I was pleasantly shocked at that "scene" Albus Severus Potter (awwwwwwww)

It took me 2 days to read it because Mark was off in the evenings and its so rare to have him home I didn't want to waste time reading. But I was DEVOURING the book while he was at work. I had several misty eyed moments while reading. I was worried because something with so much build up can never be as good as you want it to be. But this was. It surpassed my expectations. I loved every minute of reading it. <<Loved it. I want to reread the whole series again now.>> 2/3 I totally agree. In fact I've started to re-read the first book just last night. LOL! I've also got Mark reading them. I made him watch all the movies with me earlier this year so he'd be ready for OOTP. (He's seen the first movie when it came out but nothing since then.) Well he really started to get into the movies and now he just finished the first book last night... And then started the second one. LOL! ~Beth

The other books always featured fun things like Quidditch, flying cars, imaginative creatures & plants, etc. This book cuts right to the chase and is pretty intense the whole way through. I loved reading it, but I feel more emotionally drained than by the other books. Wonder how younger readers are reacting. The epilogue felt a little incomplete. A few more details would have been nice. One of Harry's kids sharing Snape's name was the most touching part for me.

I thought Kreacher was hilarious and was one of the good parts of the book. The epilogue was disappointing, Rob and I talked about it last night and both of us wanted to know things like, had they moved into 12 Grimmauld Place? What happened to Kreacher? What were there Jobs - did Harry become an Auror like he had always wanted too? stuff like that. My favourite books are still 3 and 5, I guess

I was also left with many unanswered questions and the ending epilogue just seemed to "pat" for me - too different from the style of the rest of the book. Now, I did enjoy this book, really. But I was disappointed, and it is not my favorite of the series. Geez, I'm going to miss Hogwarts.

I don't have the link but if you're interested you can google it or I can send you the file... It's just under 700 pages.

The story is about dealing with death, which is painful. Dobby's death and how Harry reacts to it is the catalyst for the entire ending. I'm watching my 9 year old son read it. Unlike the other books, he can only go through 75 pages or so and he has to stop and do something else. He hasn't gotten to Dobby's death yet and I'm expecting him to really be upset at that part. He just loves that character.

There were so many good parts to this book that I could write for ever. Needless to say I'm starting to read the book again as I went through it so fast I'm sure I missed some parts of it.

I was happy to see that I was right about Snape. And glad to see that Harry and Ginny named a son after both Dumbledore and Snape.
