So, I put in my request for those specific rooms. I know nothing is guaranteed but I made the reservation all the way back in Dec '05, what are my chances of getting those rooms? Usually, I am not so picky but we would like to be close to the lounge and there is a wonderful patio on the 5th floor that the kids can relax on. I have already asked about two rooms on the 6th floor but it is cheaper to get a two bedroom suite. Thanks everyone!!

I quit staying at DLH because the rooms were never what I'd requested or told I would recieve amongst other things. It's been about 3 years now since my last stay. However, I've never had a single disappointment at the Grand.

They had put us in a CORNER room, and if you know the layout of most moderates that is a very preferred location!

Understand you probably won't be able to check in, but this will allow you to confirm that you made a request for a specific area earlier, and if you're nice and patient, they will do what they can to accommodate you. They'll be more able to switch your room; then you'll check your things with the bell staff and come back in the afternoon. That's been our experience, anyway. The reason they don't guarantee is they always want as much flexibility as possible as to where to put people. And the earlier you get there, the fewer people they'll have already placed, and therefore the more flexibility they'll have. When we've gotten there early, they did everything they could to get us as close to where we wanted as possible. Good friends of ours got there later - and they were out of luck because everything they wanted was taken. It's not foolproof, but I think it's the best chance you can give yourself.
