I read Mr. Yee's article on the change, and I think there's a lot of assuming going on here. The shop wasn't profitable, and DAK was the only park lacking an indoor Meet and Greet, so personally I doubt this was a move for Avatar.

Could it be? Sure. But I think it's jumping the gun to assume the moves have anything to do with one another.

And although technically it is an outdoor area, the meet and greet on the old Discovery River Boat dock is well covered from the rain, so it is effectively indoors. The only time I've ever been down there was during a pretty big storm, and they managed to keep the characters rotating through just fine. I've never done the CMM meet and greets, but they seem like they'd be sufficiently covered as well (though if the Avatar area ever happens, I suppose they'll get displaced)

Kids don't care about Avatar. Next idea, please?

I hope you are right. At first I liked the idea of Avatarland, because James Cameron is known for using new technology and so I thought the land will be fantastic. However I didn't like the movie at all and in my opinion it doesn't fit into DAK. I wouldn't mind a small land with a great ride inside DHS, but not in DAK.

Metaphysical Lessons from James Cameron's Avatar
- All Life is Connected
-All Life is Sacred
-Interspecies Communication is Possible with Energy
- Listen to Your Intuition
-Death Is a Natural Part Of Life
-Reincarnation is Possible
-All Life Radiates Light
-A Greater Consciousness Communicates to Us Through Signs
-At its True Essence Science is Spiritual
-To See The Divine in Another is To Truly See Them

Add to this the science of bio- luminescent animals and the exploration of biology and evolution and you have one exciting mix of goodies to spark your imagination.

I also like that Avatar may NOT be for the kids as TP mentioned. I am a huge Potter fan (read all the books and saw the movies) and realize Potter crosses over with kids and adults. I am watching the videos and looking at the photos posted on the Dumbo area in MK's new Fantasyland and it feels so "stroller set". It is evident it is geared toward the toddlers. I like feeling that Avatar will speak to me on an adult level.

But put the Cameron attraction in a land devoted to mythical beasts as the original "Beastly Kingdom" idea had been floated for DAK. That way there is still room for some kind of dragon ride or even the original Fantasia idea (although probably not too many people around that really relate to that movie anymore).

BTW, someone above mentioned that kids don't dress as Avatar characters for Halloween. I know that they were being humorous. Just for the record though, the kids in my neighborhood did dress up as Avatar characters, which some of them got their costumes at Target Store. Here's one of the Target costumes for Avatar (not great by any means, but still an Avatar kid's costume). http://www.target.com/p/kids-a...12745715. And, I saw boys wearing a better Avatar costume that I know they bought from a store. Kids did like Avatar a lot. But, will they like it several years from now...enough that they'll want to encourage their parents to take them to Disney World to see the new Avatar attraction(s) when they eventually open?

We were both looking at the group of blue-clad women, with confused expressions on our faces, thinking that you're born lesbian, you don't recruit people into a sexual orientation like it's a religion. I thought that situation was a little unusual, and my memory of it is so clear that it feels like it just happened....hence, why I thought I saw Avatar in theaters last summer. :)
