I think this is one of the coolest uses of projection technology that I've ever seen. I used to stand there in that lobby for 30 minutes at a time, just soaking it all in. I'm hoping it comes back with very few changes.

I mean, we're only talking about changing out some movie clips, right. I assume this is all run by computers and digital projectors, right, so why the huge delay?

I'm not sure exactly when the expiration date was (10 years from the park's opening, 10 years from the first preview day, etc), or what exactly was the problem with it, but they have been working on renewing the contractual language, and possibly the technology and segments used. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. The area is pretty dull without anything going on in it.

Why should one department of Disney have to pay another to use something that is essentially owned by the whole company? Why should Disney need a contract with itself to use its own movies in the theme parks. It's just nuts, and probably adds layers of costs and overhead that shouldn't need to be there. Modern corporations can be so stupid at times.

Instead of having the projectors display solid colors and "returning in March" until they are changed out, why not just have them... continue to show the same thing they've been showing for 10 years until they're changed out?!
