They just look RIGHT in that scene. Maybe on the right side of the ballroom where there's not that much going on. But the left side with the dancers, the organist, and the dueling paintings look great as they are. I'd rather they use projected images in other scenes. The hallway or the farther-back layers of the graveyard would seem obvious choices. What would be important is that they not look too much like animated projections. "Quick and done" (like a ghost flying out of a coffin) would be the way to go. Maybe in the seance scene, too, especially as Madame Leota summons them...
