It's unfortunate that it's closed during the summer, but this is what happens when you have an accumulation of needed maintenance that gets deferred on an ongoing basis.

And the HM is such a signature ride that taking it offline any time of the year was going to be bad. They finally decided to take it down during the summer months, where at least everything else would be up and running and able to take up the slack. I agree with others here that the WDW HM was long overdue for a major refurb. I'm looking forward to seeing it this December!

Now it would suck even more if nothing was working. So I'd rather have them fix everything so that when I return in a few years it's good as new.

It's life. < I never have any issues if the finished product after they are done is an improvement over what was there -- last time Potc down, and I am hopefully going to partake in a slightly better experience there now... I would have closed HM at least 3 years ago if I was in charge - so I have no issues.....and improved sound and ending for SSE -- all for it. I will miss both of them, but all in all my visit will not be diminished
