A report from his pastor states the same thing about striking his head against the wall. It said 55 stitches, and his neck was broken in 3 places, but no paralysis. He was scheduled to go home within the next few days. Due to the accident a blood clot formed, and claimed his life. By all accounts he was a great guy. Very sad, and a loss to WDW.

From what I can gather Dan he was performing on the stage where the steel drums normally perform. He slipped in some water, and struck his head against the wall.
