I did see one nice thing, at least on the Spider-Man disc. Instead of selecting a scene, you slide a bar to get to any part in the movie you want to see. Other than that, count me out. Originally Posted By RobinsonCrusoeEsq Hi. Just a thought here. I remember when Disney VHS titles were $79.00. These were those white clam-shells that you can now get for pennies on ebay and garage sales. Back before most of us had VCRs, you would see these tapes on store shelves and say to yourself, "That is expensive. But gee, you OWN the movie, and can watch it whenever you want! Holy smokes!" The prices came down eventually in the late 80s enough that Sleeping Beauty came out at the amazingly low price of $28.99. Finally, when we ALL had VCRs, and the Disney Store opened, and movies were about $24, Sleeping Beauty had already seen its release and run, all the folks that didn't purchase the first time had to wait the moratorium out to buy it the second time it came out. Sleeping Beauty was not one of the first DVDs, but Mermaid, Jungle Book, Aristocats, and Pinnochio were. Those discs arrived in the late 90s, before most folks had players. I know this because I took the DVD plunge at the outset, around 1998. I was the first one on my block to have one, and I remember everyone getting to that party a little late, after the first wave of Disney DVDs were long gone. Well, I'm not going to let it happen again. I do not own a Blu-Ray player yet, but of course, we all will some day. When that day comes, this edition of Sleeping Beauty will probably be sold out. So I'm getting mine now. I think everyone should! It will be historic, and a great collectors item. Then when the three-disc ultra edition comes out seven years from now, I won't have to sleep outside the store the night before they come in.

Some people do, but I question whether they've ever made the money they thought they would in reselling their giant VHS collector's sets. Now, someone said in another thread that new Blu-Ray releases will include DVD versions inside. That sounds to me like a smart move by Disney.
