HKDL is majority-owned by the Hong Kong government, not the Chinese government. The national government has nothing to do with HKDL. Hong Kong is essentially the same as it was under British rule: a full-fledged capitalist system, with Western-style civil rights (including freedom of speech) and rule of law. Now, when Shanghai DL opens, you might have a point, but not with HKDL.

It's always a voluntary relationship. Not quite the same thing as having the fate of being born in a Communist country and just having to deal with it.

I know that I'm limited by what I can do or say by my employer, too. It's not communism, it's just a way to do old fashioned capitalisic business!
