Disney has offered to replace the toys.

There were no labels on the guns at that time. Come on guys. Get real. My poor kid actually crumbled to the floor in tears because he thought he would never see his toys again.

I think you'd have much more argument and certainly claims of arbitrary enforcement if there was some sort subjective judgment involved.

Granted, I did bring full size scissors on board a couple years ago (by accident), and they didn't say a thing, and I'm pretty sure I could have done some real damage with those if I wanted to.

He had spotted a large(about 3ft)rubber snake on our previous visit outside the Jungle Cruise. At the time I told him if he really wanted it he could save & get it on our next trip since I thought it was just a whim. By golly that boy saved & sure enough he march right up to that little hut they had outside the ride & there was 'the snake' as it later became known as. My little man pulled out his hard earned money & proudly purchased his prize. We always take our purchases in the cabin when we travel so had 'the snake' tucked into the bottom of the DL shopping bag with all the other things we got on top. We didn't have any checked luggage so the kids & I proceeded to the secruity/screening area while my husband returned the rental car. I put the shopping bag on the belt with the rest of the carry-ons. The screener stopped the belt & sternly asked me if we had a snake in the bag. I smiled & said yes but that it was rubber of course. This was back when folks that worked @ the airports still had a sense of humor but not this gal. She promptly demanded I remove it from the bag & stated 'the snake' could not be taken on the plane. She said I would have to go back to the ticket counter & check it OR I could dispose of it. Here I stand with 3 young children(one of which is now about to cry) alone with carry-on & I have to trudge back to the ticket counter. Of course we went. Luckily I caught the eye of one of the agents that helped me without having to go all the way thru the line. He was very nice & seeing the mood of my group he asked my son with a smile if he wanted him to punch holes in the box so 'the snake' could breath. My son still mentions this agent from time to time. BTW the humorless screener made sure to tell me we couldn't take rubber rats or spiders on board either. Good to know.
