Farther away is best. I recommend the Embassay Suites in Santa Ana. Six to a room, full breakfast and, if you have your own bus, very do-able. We're doing a combination this year, five bands and two choirs: 250 kids and five buses. It is a lot of work, but well worth it. fmomoon

I have found that tour directors (there are tons of them out there)have connections for discounts and know the ins and outs. It makes things so much easier for me. I highly recommend it, especially with a group your size.
