And though I do like James Franco .. Robert Downey Jr would have been THE PICK for that role. I can just imagine how Downey would have pulled it off. Just the right personality to put 'Professor Marvel' on top! Though Downey is a professor of sorts in the Marvel films ... LOL

There's no shame in liking a movie that got crummy reviews; I'd probably put Atlantis: the Lost Empire far higher on my list than I realistically know it should be

It seems to me the art direction alone will make it at least watchable for me. "which I know makes me seen as an idiot around here." Or just someone who has different tastes. " Regardless, I like plenty of things that I know are pretty terrible." I think better phrasing is "things that the consensus says is pretty terrible". In the end, it's all subjective.

Originally Posted By RoadTrip <<I liked the 'Oz' movie until he went over the rainbow. But, whatever.>> Which is when I really started to love it. For some reason I really LOVE movies that use a lot of vivid color. I really liked Benny and Joon because of that, and it really was a good movie. I also really liked "What Dreams May Come" because of that, and it really wasn't a good movie. So it can go either way. But I though OZ was actually a very good movie. As you say, it is subjective...

If you tell me your 3 favourite Disney animateds are Lion King, Frozen, and Beauty and the Beast, you'll just put me to sleep. PPS Atlantis deserves to be at the top of everybody's list. Still it wasn't that bad of a film. ORWEN: I sometimes wonder if Roseanne Barr's connection to the movie turned a lot of people off because she lost a lot of popularity around the time the film came out--or so it seemed.
