Right now I don't see us giving up our yearly early December trip and I'd love that to be part of our holiday extras we enjoy.

(except for the wise one Labuda of course..) >>It's funny when some people get upset when MK doesn't get some of the makeovers that DL gets or, in POTC get as good of one.<< Would that be because WDW charges more on a 1-day ticket than DL, which offers more rides and things to do that the MK? Bottom line is... they see the golden goose laying eggs at WDW day in and day out and they do not want to try harder when they actually *could* give the locals and tourists alike something special to look forward to. >>When on the other hand people for DL get upset when WDW get all the new stage shows and new things first.<< Actually, it is TOKYO DISNEY RESORT getting all of the new stuff. WDW only gets the hand me down for tthe other parks and even their hand me downs are below par of what the original productions were like at other parks.. EG- Cinderellabration. >>OK,Ok let the hammering begin.<< Fair enough. Let's start with danyoung show says..."People forget sometimes that Disney is one big company. It's not like WDW and DL are warring over who gets what first. It's the same people who ultimately make the decision for both locations." Wrong. Inside sources tell me that each park has a separate budget and it's up to management at each park to allocate the budgets for expansion or improvements. At WDW, instead of spending money on such things as new parades and shows, they rather improve the performance of their bottom line and profits. They show a much better balance sheet.

But it seems to me that this would refer to their operating budget, which would not include the big capital expenditures like new major attractions. I'd think that Disney corporate would have much more to say on big ticket items like that. But hey, I'm just one of those "clueless Texans who think they know it all... ".

It's also one reason why DL just lost its president as Jay Rasulo is determined to not have the lousy job he is doing heading all the parks be undermined by park presidents who have a clue like Matt. He'd much rather have the WDW or DLP variety exec. Read Al Lutz's column today. He mentions many of the things I have already said about Matt and why left.

For example, I knew the Monsters were coming to Timekeeper quite a while ago, but I never heard one thing about Midway Madness coming to the Disney-MGM Studios. So, I guess what I'm saying is ... doubtful, but you never know. What I have heard about Nightmare is its characters playing a major role in a new hard-ticket more teen/adult-based Halloween event for MGM that 'should' start in 2007.

Letting DL have their overlay at least maintains a little difference for me.
