Not sure if it's only for the Disneyland Hotel, or for Miracosta and Ambassador guests as well. It's above ground: a straight shot from the front of the new hotel straight into the park. Also, the facades of both sides of the hotel, both on the front (actually back) side facing the park, and in the courtyard will mimic the shops in World Bazaar--so architecturally World Bazaar and the Disneyland Hotel can be seen as a unit. I'm sure the new hotel guest entrance structure will create a similarly-Victorian themed connection to tie the whole thing together.

There were three types of auctions: items sold by lottery (kind of like RSP here, but the items were all park signs and banners); a silent auction (only one bid allowed); and a regular auction. The stuff sold by lottery was really reasonably priced--$100 for banners that hung in the parks and various signs. Some of the more elaborate 5th Anniversary signs and banners were $250--they consisted of various elements of that particular port in the shape of Mickey ears with a big 5 in the middle. There were also enormous Halloween bannners that hung from the front of World Bazaar two years ago (bought those). In fact, I won 6 of the 10 things I listed (you were allowed to list 10 items as choices). They had multiples of some items, so I think everybody won something at very reasonable prices.

It would be nice to have a way to get there without "mixing with the commoners", but it might look a little strange to have the walkway cut through the center of an otherwise wide open plaza, no matter how nicely themed the fence is.
