How crowded before July 4?

    We are thinking of going to Disneyland July 1-3 and then flying home on July 4. How crowded will the parks be... will it be just as bad the weekend before the 4th as on the 4th itself? Will that weekend be significantly worse than any other summer weekend?

    I'm guessing no one wants to tell you to expect it to be packed! It's on Tues. this year, and many, many people will be taking the Monday off work. Add that to the fact it's a summer weekend, and you will have sizeable crowds.

    Have you checked for hotel availability yet? I'm thinking it is probably pretty limited already.

After the evening shows are over (Mainly after F!) a very large portion of the crowd leaves the park.) We only go to DL during peak season because I love being the park late at night, which does mean the crowds are bigger but the longer hours balance it out.

    If you're staying at DLH you'll have a easy monorail ride back if you decide to go in the afternoon and don't want to deal with the crowds anymore. YOu would have time to cruise DTD and the hotel or even check out some other attractions in the day.

    Don't worry to much about the crowds. I doubt it will be ghastly, unless you're one to the really uptight people who can't wait ten darn minutes for anything ;o). Typically some sections of the park are more crowded than others. So if Fantasyland is packed head to Frontierland. So just relax while you're there and have a great time! DL is better after dark anyway!
