Has anyone done this and what other ways would you reccommend to do this?

The internet books just seem like a rip off to me, the just don't FEEL right for some reason.

Go to IMDB.com and look up the stars. They used to have the reps listed for free, but now it seems you need to pay $12.95 a month for the imdbpro service. But check, because some are still listed under the free section.

Still, I'd much rather spend my money on imdb than some other service that I didn't know.

Who does your son want to look up? Two people here at work have that service so I can check for you.

Stars still like getting fan mail and requests for autographed photos, so it doesn't hurt to ask. Just remember to send a sase to help them with costs.

Again, it's for a 12-year old. The fun is in looking up the person, crafting a letter, mailing at, and waiting for a response.

In 3 weeks, interest will have waned, and it'll all be a distant memory...

    :)

Until months later when the requested item arrives! :)

I sent the liner notes from Ringo Starr's "Time Takes Time" CD to his record company's address, asking him for an autograph on the booklet (this was many years ago). I included a self-addressed stamped envelope (and cardboard to protect the item) for the return.

One day, eight months later, it arrived in my mailbox... I was so jazzed! I had all of the other Beatles' autographs, but had purchased them... This one I got all on my own. :)

Tell your son to go for it... It'll be fun for him!

I think maybe you, me and my brother were the three people who bought that CD, sad to say.

When I saw him at The Joint (small, intimate setting in the Hard Rock, if you're not familiar) a couple of years ago, me and my friend were amongst the few who were standing and singing along to "Don't Go Where The Road Don's Go" (my favorite from "TTT"). Ringo made a point of pointing and waving to us. :) Made me really happy to give him the acknowledgement, you know? Not that he necessarily needs any encouragement from me, but I think he appreciates knowing his fans enjoy his work outside the Beatles.

Good luck! Most stars are very nice and don't mind accomodating reasonable requests.

Yes _dad, I was going to ask "Why a book?" Why not just Google sites for star addresses? That's what's worked for me so far.
