How does this ride compare to BTM and Space Mountain? It won't seem like Disney with the Haunted Mansion closed and from what I hear the current state of MK is a mess.

All in all it's a great coaster, more intense than BTMRR and Space Mtn., but don't confuse it with an AA attraction like Splash.

It's quite disappointing and very un-Disney like. But the ride is nice. Not "excellent" like some people here swear it is... but still a nice E-ticket... mostly for the attention to details in the queue and mountain itself, but there is certainly a lack of show elements to make this ride truly great.

Also, the "hollow" inside of the mountain isn't as bad as everyone says. If you look towards the front of the car, you think you're in a pitch black cave. You have to look down to the side to see any light getting through the cracks.

But, the interiors in EE are not as complete and immersive as Big Thunder, Splash and Matterhorn. The inside the EE mountain is basically hollow, which was really noticable to me as light from the mountain's cracks were illuminating the inside well enough to see the inside infrastructure (I rode in the early AM). I never see the inside infrastructure of BTMR nor Splash and Matterhorn has more ice caverns than EE. But, EE's amimatronic Yeti is AMAZING and techically runs circles around Matterhorn's Harold. For me, the close encounter with Yeti is the best part of EE.
Originally Posted By danyoung >But the ride is nice. Not "excellent" like some people here swear it is...< Well, excellent is a subjective term, and for me the ride is indeed excellent, one of my current favorites. But I actually agree with TDLFAN and Spirit - it could easily have been better.

The yeti absolutely sends chills up my spine! If the ride itself is a B-, then the yeti is definately an A+.

It's just with a bit more forethought ... and, actually, just cash it could have been spectacular. Things like the ice cave could have had the freezing temps and fog effects they were supposed to ... bird on a stick could have been a real AA (as was originally planned) ... you could have had two encounters with the huge yeti (again, as was planned) ... and those litte 'holes in the mountain' could have easily been plugged. That's what takes you from a B+ to an A+.

All these sound like they would make great additions, too bad all Disney cares about is the bottom line of profit now days.
