How many times a year do you go to DLR...

Just out of curiosity...How many times of year do you generally get to Disneyland and are you from California or do you have a long distance to travel. After explaining yet again to extended family why I want to take 3 (gasp, yes three) trips to DLR over the year to take advantage of my annual pass I am curious about how often you attend. I went in July, am planning to return in November, and then again in June. I don't know when we will go again after that. I will have to play it by ear. In the last few years it has been an annual trip for us.

I think our record was 9 trips in a year, but we average 5 a year lately. This has been a very slow year. My 3rd trip is planned for next month. We usuall go in January, March, May or June, and November, with sometimes a summer trip (July or August) too. I always plan our trips around AP rates or HoJo Entertainment deals.

Being a Deluxe AP Holder and living about 15 minutes away - I make it there fairly often. I would say at least a visit every couple weeks this time of year, but some of those are only a couple hours (or less, when the corndog urge hits on my way home from work During the summer I tend to go a bit more, cause it's alot easier to justify going after getting off work at 6 when its open till midnight instead of 9 or 10.

Maybe 4 times per year we have what we call a "Full Disney Day" where we show up at opening and treat the parks as if we are only there for one day and want to get the full expirience.

I always thought it would be neat for Disney to send some sort of printout when they send their AP renewal info as sort of a "hey! remember how many times you visited last year? you had fun, buy another" sort of thing.

For the last three years my family and I have gone for spring break and we are going again in '08. I have heard that you can turn your tickets into an annual pass and just pay the difference so I will be checking into that when we go in March. If we do that, we would try to go at least twice a year. It's a little harder for us because we live in Oregon and it is a twelve hour drive to DL. But if we don't have to buy tickets, that just might be enough of an intcentive to go more often.

I seem to average about once a month while I'm in LA for school (so no summer trips for me). The half hour drive (without traffic) isn't really that bad, but it can be tough to get there, since I don't have a car. Luckily I'm getting to know more people with AP's and bumming rides from them. We are generally in the park when the turnstiles open and leave after the park closes, often with Security nudging us out the gates. My whole life pre DCA I was good for one trip a year of 1 or 2 days in Disneyland. Then they built DCA and twice I bought the Costco 4 play ticket and in separate years made one trip of 4 days, that's 2 days in each park per trip. THen about 18 months ago I hear about the super cheap southern select AP. I buy the annual pass and make 5 trips for a total of 20 park hopping days. That was during the 50th anniversary and was the happiest 12 months of my life since I love both parks. My pass expired this April but in August I went and bought a new AP. On that trip I stayed for 4 days in the 2 parks. My next trip is the week before Christmas because Christmas time in Disneyland is the best. That trip will be for another 4 days in both parks.

I live about 210 miles (4 - 5 hours depending on traffic). If I lived in Anaheim I would go every day. If I lived within 50 or so miles where I wouldn't have to waste money on a motel I would go once a week. The only thing that keeps me from going more is motel and gas cost.

Since having kids, our Disney trips have slowed down.

And trying to explain three trips when you live so close? Try explaining to people the fact we could have probably bought a house cash for the last 15 years of Disney trips!!!! Ouch.

No wonder I get grumpy when I see Disney standards slip!

Now with just the 2 of us we tend to drive down 3-5 times a year for 4-6 nights. This year we came in April for our annual "end of work busy season" trip, June for DH's birthday and opening of Nemo, August because we were in Fresno for a wedding and we were SO close, we are here now for Halloween time and will be back in Dec for Christmas festivities.

We just re introduced our sons and their wife/so to "Disneyland as adults" and they were all caught by the magic. I imagine we may be coming down more often now
