Why cant DL strive to be wholesome which in my opinoion would mean what is the considered norm. Last I checked being gay or dressing such way for attention was not part of the norm of society. I like DL to reflect the general attitudes and morals of current day. Only 10 percent of society is gay and I am sure less then that is “goth†so these are far from the “normâ€. Why I feel DL should reflect these attitudes is because it is a place for kids and kids at heart. For me being gay or goth has no place for a kid.

Disneyland doesn't. Other people run them.

You want to start a "Heterosexual Day at the Fun Park", you can, and if you get enough people to attend, you can purchase discount tickets from Disneyland Group Sales.

I really don't think that DL does absolutly anything to promote Bat's Day (Goth Days) I think it's just a bunch of Goth kids/adults who mainly enjoy going together and secondarily enjoy shocking the masses by their presence. They coordinate among themselves, as I understand it.

Another fun gathering is if you are ever there on a Saturday night head over to the Carnation Gardens (Is that it? The dance floor on the other side of the wall from Rancho Z.) There you can see a bunch of people who can swing and jitterbug like you wouldn't believe. Some of the dancers dress up which adds to the fun. Besides the "professionals" there are also some people shuffleing arround the floor and little kids turning in circles and having fun. A good show all around!

Mrs. ElderP, I'd love to be there on a Saturday for the dancing (alas, we're never there on Saturdays)... But I'm not sure ol' "Footloose" up there on Post # 1 approves of those wild jitterbuggers, either. ;-)

Bats Day is realy unofffical, as they do not rent any facilities from Disney, instwad they rent convention space off property instead. About the only thing that is coordinated with Disney is the Main Group Photo in front of the Castle. The Disney PhotoPass folks come out and takes a picture and then offers it on sale, and a few CM's come out to perform crowd control, and they stop the Main Street Vehicles for about 15 minutes. But anybody can get that, I have helped arrange for PhotoPass to take a group shot for internet meets. You talk to a manger, and they will get a few PhotoPass CM's to come out (to scan cards after the photo) and brings a tripod to get a nice shot.

Gay Days on the other hand, while still unofficial, does rent out space in the Disney hotels (mainly the DLH, but they also have events in the other hotels), the also rent out the Festival Arena, plus the House of Blues and Ralph Breenan's Jazz Kitchen. This brings in more money to Disneyland.

Should be interesting this year, since it falls on a three day weekend for some (Columbus Day), so larger crowds than normal in the parks.

However, a question about Bat's Day (which I always try to attend,as a spectator)... we noticed that some gals had very sexy/revealing outfits on (one had 6" of skin showing on her h-ps with just buckled straps keeping her "skirt" on)... does DL monitor guest attire at all? Just curious...

Maybe we should think about trying to get Disney to stop the Happy Hearts weekends as well because as we all know those with handicaps are outside the "norm"... and kids don't need to see that. Oh and lets stop those yearly events where those Disney nerds gather! Adults that into Disney?! That isn't normal either. They're having too much fun. Children should be shielded from such tomfoolery!(/sarcasm)

Who cares what you wear and who cares who you love? As long as you're considerate to other guests, I have no problem with it.

I find this comment commical given the number of flamboyantly gay performers in Disneyland parades and shows. And what about the kids running around the park dressed as fairy princesses and so forth? Are they not doing this for attention?

Is that what you were getting at iamgoofy? Of course, if these special days are unofficial, the point is really moot isn't it? (I like that word, moot!)

Alas, there were a FEW Bats Day folks who probably crossed the line of decency, especially in a family setting. And I am a fan of cleavage :)

But there was a few that went overboard, especially on exposures to the rear.

But the vast majority was fine and while sometimes attention getting, didn't have any naughty bits being exposed to the general public....
