At WDW, it's an extra $30, no matter how long your ticket is valid. DL's tickets decrease in price per day for additional days, but with WDW's larger pricing scheme (you can get up to a 14 day ticket), the additional days later in the trip cost as little as $1 more. AP's for WDW are definatley more expensive, but they don't have nearly as many (or any??) blackout days. Some of the hotels at WDW may be more expensive, but by far, they are cheaper. The value resorts start at around $75 per night, while $130 is a pretty good deal for a Disney hotel at DLR. I think the rooms at the moderates are usually around $230 per night, and the deluxes are $450, which seems comparable to the DLH and GCH. From what I remember, food prices are about the same. They may actually be a little cheaper in WDW, but that may just be because of differences in local cost of living and cost of preparing the food. If you go to WDW, you will probably spend longer than you would have at DL, so it will cost you more either way.
Originally Posted By danyoung >...I think the rooms at the moderates are usually around $230 per night...< A little high. I just went on the website, and a moderate in mid-February is $196 a night, standard view. Of course, if you're smart you'll buy an Annual Pass, which gets you incredibly discounted prices on rooms. I paid $89/night for a moderate last year, and usually get a room for less than $125/night. You can get a value for around $69 or even $59 a night. The savings can easily pay for any increase between your standard park ticket and the AP. And with an AP you can also buy the Tables in Wonderland card for $75, which gets you 20% off off sitdown dining, including alcohol. If you like dining like I do while on vacation, the TiW card can easily pay for itself in one trip. FerretAfros is correct in that there are no blockout days on any AP. They have 2 levels - standard and premium. The standard pass gets you admission to the 4 main parks. It also includes park hopping and parking. The premium pass will also get you admission to the water parks, Disney Quest and the Oak Trail golf course. Standard AP is $489 for adults and $432 for kids. Premium is $619 for adults and $546 for kids.

I wouldn't be able to fly out to Florida often enough to make it worth the 18 grand it costs to join. I'll go there someday!
Originally Posted By danyoung >At WDW are the ap's a problem? as in large crowds such as DL or is it actaully better?< It's a totally different animal in Florida. They don't have any cut-rate regional passes, although you can buy a seasonal pass if you live in Flordia. But the AP population isn't largely local like it is in SoCal. So you don't have 50,000 locals converging on the place at any given time. The Food & Wine Festival in Epcot can bring out the locals every October & November. But Epcot is such a huge park that they can be absorbed a lot better than DL can.

FL-Res Seasonal AP - Blacked out for summer, spring break, christmas, etc.. Essentially super peak periods. Relatively cheap, but does not include parking. FL-Res Weekday AP - Only allows admission during weekdays during non-peak periods. Pretty darn cheap. No parking. FL-Res Epcot After 4pm Pass - Epcot 365 days a year, just after 4pm only. The cheapest at $139. No parking.

That is what I got out of everyone posts!
