If I had all the time in the world, I would definatly go on it every time. My last trip to WDW, I was with a big group, and we only spent the afternoon at Epcot. We were able to get everything in, other than UoE, The Land, and The Living Seas. While I probably would have preferred to spend the time it took to walk around the lagoon on UoE (everybody was getting really tired of walking), it was also great to get to see everything (almost, at least) the park had to offer. Some other ones that just seem like I'm better off without include Pirates (though I haven't seen it since it came out of the rehab), Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Pooh, and RNRC. While they are all good attractions, the waits just seem to be outrageous (IMO) for what you actually get out of the ride. I also haven't been on the tram tour since LMA! opened, but I would assume that would be on the list now as well.

The movie is now a little out of date but it shows the grand scale that the attractions at Epcot used to be. The connection between this incredibly important topic and the dinosaur ride has always been a little strained, but hey dinos are cool and there definitely is a connection there. It is a ride after all, and not a college lecture. It's always been a joke that the ride was sponsored by Exxon, which is good old Standard Oil. The biggest problem with the ride I think is that you don't leave feeling inspired about the future and the research being done to find new energy sources. But in reality, there really isn't anything on the horizon in that regard, so the end of the ride reflects the somewhat bleak outlook on things. It's sad, but the problem is going to have to result in some kind of global economic crisis before any government takes a serious interest in funding research for solutions.

For me, the attraction is basically a movie, and oh, by the way, there are dinosaurs along the way too. I know my viewpoint is different than most, but I like it for what it is. I agree that there seems to be a lot more relevance to the issues presented in the film now (or they are at least known to a lot more people) than when it came out a decade ago. It may not be the most exciting thing out there, but it's still pretty good. I'm just not sure if I want to spend 45 minutes of my day there if I don't have a lot of time to spend in Epcot. "How do we manage the growing need for energy as well as the environmental issues consumption causes?" Brain power.
