I was drawing a blank, and I was just about to log on here and ask for some ideas from you.....THEN IT HIT ME!!!! A few monthe back, I had seen a set of Mickey and Minnie plush that were dressed in wedding attire, and were hugging each other...I could put the tickets in their arms...how romantic. Plus, it ties in nicely with the whole Disney thing.

I also recalled, that the set was $49.99. A bit pricey, but I had decided that THIS was how I wanted to give them the tickets, and at $49.99 it worked out to about a buck a year for their marriage, so what the heck.

Well, imagine my sheer delight when I logged onto Disney Shopping and discovered that the afformentioned plush was on sale for the incredible low low price of $9.99!!!!!

I was so happy with myself, that I picked up some logo t-shirts and sweatshirts for myself, DD and DH...and a Tinkerbell bank...and a Minnie Mouse kitchen timer, and a stuffed Goofy, and a Mickey Mouse fleece blanket...and on and on and on....

DH thinks it would be fun to float them over the yard hanging from helium balloons, then shoot the balloons with a BB gun just as they are overhead....sick.

My dad would find it hillarious, my mother would be confused by it all, and DH would be injured by the falling debris.

Luckily they didn't have enough money and just came out with the traditional ear hats because my husband would really have disappointed them.

Nemopoppins...well, the folks' official 50th is June 22nd, but we aren't going to DL until the 12th of August. (We're like "heat-seeking-missles" and must be there when it's the hottest). I have already got a box of Disney themed artifacts put away for the trip that I was going to give them on their actual anniversary...t-shirts, hats, photo albums, scrapbooks, charm bracelets...you name it, and it's probably in the box. DH, DD and myself will be arriving a day before they are, so, what I was pondering is this......

Ask the front desk at the hotel if they would put the Mickey and Minnie along with the note about Fantasmic on their bed, so that when they go into their room they have a little surprise waiting. By giving them the rest of their "Disney Vacation Essentials" in June, they will pretty much think that the presents are over, and be really surprised by the Fantasmic deal. We will be celebrating DH's birthday on the 15th, so the folks will be expecting that most of the week will be geared towards him, and I just want to be sure they feel like we're still putting them in the limelight, too.

I'm glad to find out about the groom ears..like I said, my dad will wear them proudly. He can be pretty silly; especially when his kids and grandkids are around.

He is known as the goofiest member of our family, so of course, I plan to book us all (12 of us) at Goofy's Kitchen for his birthday dinner...complete with the birthday party bags and the birthday cake, of course.

Then, I printed up Goofy birthday cards for all the family members to give to him...all identical or it wouldn't be Goofy! The front of the card has a picture of Goofy fishing, which is perfect because DH's favorite pasttime is fishing.

His presents are Goofy themed. I got him a Goofy watch (the one where the hands move backwards), and a Goofy t-shirt. DD got him a Goofy coffee mug, Goofy hat, Goofy boxers, and Goofy pez.

I came across a website that shows you step by step how to draw Goofy, so the rest of the family members are going to try their hands at fine art, and each of them will draw and frame a picture of Goofy to give to him as a gift.

As an added surprise, his brother will come in from Arizona for the big day.

So, as you can see, the folks could easily get washed away in all the goofy business, that's why I really need to be quick on the draw and get the dessert buffet tickets before they get sold out. Even though we will celebrate their big day in June, the trip to DL is in part to celebrate their 50th as well.

I think I'll ask the hotel for their help with the stuffed stuff, and have them leave it on their bed. We're staying at the BWPPI, and they're pretty good people there.

Most people here think we're nuts to go in august, but the hotter the better for our family. There's actually quite a few places to sit in the shade, and that heat makes those margaritas taste all that much better. We're close enough to the hotel that the wimps can head over for a swim.

I think I'm getting these final decisions dialed in...thanks for the input.
