If we get the old version of the show back, which I think is quite plausible, at this point, I certainly would not complain.

The Stitch version in Tokyo REALLY isn't bad. The YouTube videos really don't do it justice.

Knowing TDO's M.O. (ha), I think your options are either going to be to re-use an SGE AA from across the park, and import an English version of the Tokyo show. It'd be cheapest to do, by far.

And really, they could still keep SGE open with one theatre, if they so chose.

I fear that if this isn't the solution, yet another building in Adventureland will be shuttered. :(

    Here... I'll put it brutally...

Stitch? In Adventureland? How does that fit?

About as well as Nemo in EPCOT's Future World, if you get my drift.

I don't think it's that jarring. The movie is centered in the South Pacific (Hawaii). If the show takes on a Hawaiian flair, I don't think it's that big a stretch. It's not the chili-dog burping Stitch... It's the "Ohana means family" stitch, that enjoys Hawaiian Elvis songs, and seems immersed in Hawaiian culture. And at the end of the movie, Hawaii is his home.

I don't believe the original show will come back to WDW. It won't put "butts in the seats". And if there is damage to both the Iago and Zazu AA's, plus the mobile, I don't see them spending tons of cash just to get it back to the current show, because it wasn't drawing big crowds.

That leaves either something completely new, which would cost a LOT of money to develop... Or re-purpose an amazing AA and take the framework that's already in place for the Tokyo show and translate and adjust.

Or choice number three... Shutter the attraction.

Of the three options I list above, which seems like the LEAST likely?? To me, it's the complete new show from scratch.

Which seems the MOST likely? Well... If there's really as much damage as we're hearing... I fear they'll shutter it. :(

Seriously? Lilo and Stitch was laid in Hawaii. This is a far better fit than some stuff we've seen in recent years.

SERIOUSLY? Let's see... Nemo lives in the sea... there's a Living Seas pavilion in Future World...

    Two and two, methinks.

Now, if the complaint is over ANY wedging of characters into attractions, that's a valid point of contention. But the above arguments are, well, pretty weak.

All that said, I certainly haven't heard any noise about updating WDW's very sad Tiki Room...

As much as I do like The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Nemo really doesn't fit in Epcot.

Nemo at the Living Seas is, frankly, a sad attempt by WDI to draw interest to an old pavilion without actually having to design anything clever and new. Using characters at EPCOT is just lazy Imagineering. Cartoon characters from Disney movies do not belong in EPCOT pavilions.

It does not sit well with me. At all. Its a blue alien impersonating a dog... That doesn't exactly scream antiquated colonialism and ancient culture to me. The setting and characters don't match despite Stitch's backstory.

Sure, he fits the seas. That works. But it's not futuristic in ANY way, and does nothing for the "EPCOT"-ness of the attraction. It's a off the shelf dark ride crammed into a dying pavilion to give it some life.

And it's not working, either. I never saw the wait above 10-15 mins in December... It was tied with JII.

Or put back the old show... That's easy, too.

No. I see no reason to "go back to the old show". It wasn't working when it was changed, it won't work again.

Bring on a new show or completely re purpose the building.

You came around a bit... But that was the first time we got you to let go of the Nemo plush. I'm proud.

The original show works over in DL, it can work here, too.

But ultimately? Yes, new show, use references and songs from the old one, but have it be something new. Maybe even keep the central tiki AA.
