I knew I had missed the window when the lines in Fantasyland would be manageable, so I went over and did Space, Star Tours and IASW. All were walk-ons. I got on DLRR to go do the Westside, but got waylaid by the 50th exhibit on Main St, so I did that instead before heading to DCA. The best pic in the exhibit was the one looking down from the top of the Matterhorn. I haven’t seen any shots from that vantage before.

DCA is usually a token hour-long visit to do single-rider on Soarin’, but I was pleasantly distracted by Monsters, Inc and Aladdin. I was sure I had seen Aladdin before, but I really hadn’t and I’m glad I stopped in. It was such a good show, and I’m sure some are still wondering how they got from the stage to the carpet in the rafters so fast. I know. Disney Magic. But don’t worry, I won’t give it away. It’s good for me to see a show like that to make me wonder what I’m doing with my theatre degree. I originally got it so I could work here, but I’m not even using it to do shows in Seattle, so what’s the point?

So with all that heavy on the brain, I headed back to Disneyland to have a chili dog at Coke Corner. No, I will NOT call it by its stupid name. It is what it is, people. However, on the way there, I got distracted by a nearly empty Carnation Café. People here keep talking about it, so I had to go. It didn’t disappoint, with an amazing turkey pot pie. Sadly though, half the crust was baked to the bowl, so I thought might have to eat it…but I refrained…this time, anyway. If you want to try it, you’d better hurry. It’s only seasonal. Within about twenty minutes of being on Main St, there were three musical acts performing out on the street. It’s nice to have them back.

6:30pm: Back for my chili dog. I settled my pot pie with a ride on Indy, then Pirates, HMH, Splash, BTMRR at sunset again, Pinnochio, Snow White, Toad, Alice, Canal Boats at dusk and IASW in the dark. A Dole Whip got in there somewhere, too. I hadn’t heard about the light show they’re doing on IASW, so this was a surprise. I was in line and heard something that sounded like a ratchet wrench, and the whole thing turned off. The whole queue was all – Dang – and then the show started. The lights came back on just as we got on the boat, and when we came out, the whole thing repeated with the train and Lilly Belle going through. What timing.

Oh man, I missed that comeback, didn’t I? After having nothing but short lines all day long, I decided to just grit my teeth and wait for Peter Pan already. When I got to the front, a cute CM said with an appropriately pitying face, “Are you all alone?â€

I said – Yes, ride with me.
She said – Did you get left behind?

For some reason, I said yes, but the answer was clearly NO! Everyone else got left behind, not me. Should I go ride it again since I found the right answer?

It’s nice to see some family out here. I really must come back with more people. There is not much more I can do here by myself. Oh wait, yes there is. I need fritters with my hot chocolate.

8:30pm: On the Porch, closing down Disneyland. From fritters to HMH, and then it was time for the fireworks. I had never seen them from anywhere besides the castle, but since this trip has become all about seeing new stuff, I watched them from NOS. And then we got soaped, big time, huge globs of it in the name of snow. Wouldn’t it be easier to borrow a snow machine from a ski area?

9:15pm: But really, in the midst of it all, why am I annoyed? After losing 125 pounds a few years ago, I’m almost 200 pounds again. I started doing all these incredible things, like writing books, but haven’t finished any. What did Walt do (since I’m here and all)? He finished. Did the deed. Released it to the world. I need to get there, and soon.

A friend of mine said she hated Disney because it’s all noise and kids and primary colors. She must be colorblind if that was all she saw, and I see how that vision affects how she sees life in general. When I’m here, I see such a full spectrum of color, light, sound, happiness, sadness, sun, moonlight, laughs, tears. It’s all here. All you have to do is see.

Horoscope. LOL “You have choices to make to overcome a hurdle in your life. Sometimes you can run headlong into a wall, powering your way right through it. When this works, you Rams are a sight to behold, but now this impulsive attack is just plain foolhardy. A safe alternate strategy might be to stop pushing so hard. Think about what this situation can teach you. Once you learn your lesson, the resistance may become less problematic.â€

    Ok, I get it!
