If you're a thousand miles away reading this and can't be here, I feel your pain.

This is an awesome attraction, from queue through to the special effects at the boarding platform. The Yeti is really cool. As are the full-tilt backward drops.

The g-forces at the bottom of the 1st backward drop (inside and in the dark) is significant, and quite the rush.

    I will post pictures shortly.

ORGOCH: Cain't imagine why anybody'd think them two mountain rides was so much alike!!!

From the sounds of it I think that some people will be confused with this ride thinking that it's "just a rollercoaster".

The view at the peak of the first lift is stunning on its own -- you can see landmarks from the four theme parks. And then its time to challenge the mountain. I was amazed at how smooth the ride was and how much fun not only I was having but those around me were having as well. Its exhilirating and a bit disorienting but such a lot of fun. I rode twice once towards the front and once towards the back. I enjoyed the experience toward the front more. While my sister found riding toward the front more disorienting. I'll be curious to see what the experience is like during the twilight hours as my eyes might adjust better to some of the indoor portions. Much as the Matterhorn is a bit different to me in the darker evening as the contrast isn't as severe. It was clear that the ride is still being tweaked -- some signage wasn't in place yet and such so I'm excited to enjoy the experience again once they have all things in place. Don't want to say much more until more people have had a chance to experience the fun.

I think younger kids might be challenged some, but most kids will do just fine, and feel special for it.

This thing is as richly structured as Big Thunder -- but on steroids.

And the queue itself is a richly detailed treat. If you have to wait in line a long time, the time won't be wasted.

I've heard rumors that AK might start to stay open hours later than usual, at least the non-Kilimanjaro safari parts of the park.

Oh well... I guess I won't have to post a review since I won't get to ride until like next week.

Honestly, you barely get any normal g-forces associated with dropping in the front seats, but the back seats give you quite a bit. The backwards part makes me a little nauseuous, if just for a moment, but overall I don't think this ride is quite as demanding on the body as Tower of Terror or Mission: Space (or even Splash Mountain for me).

I wonder if this sort of thing is taken into account at this (or other Disney combination indoor/outdoor) ride, such as by increasing the indoor lighting during daylight hours?

    Umm, yes.

No matter how hard I try, it's hard sometimes to figger out if you're kidding or not.
