I would like to see them go to jail. Just like I would have wanted the New Orleans looters go to jail. You just don’t go killing people for stealing a loaf of bread, some sneakers, or even a TV. Doing so wouldn’t make you as bad as them, it would make you worse.

You get so up in arms about how they are here illegally. The great majority of these people just want to work. Instead of making that illegal why not adopt the temporary work permits proposed by Bush? Instead you have criminalized an entire group of people just for being here. As others have pointed out, what incentive do they have to lead good lives if we term them criminals just for living?

Frankly you guys scare me. Just as well. It will keep me from ever moving to CA, and it sounds like you have more than enough people there anyway.

So it is not like the situation does not exist in Minnesota.

I never said you were racist. I think some of you seem intolerant, but I'm not so sure it is based on race. I think California has a helluva lot of problems since initiative and referendum came to town; and rather than blaming yourselves for doing something so stupid it is a lot easier to place the blame elsewhere. Like on the illegals.

Then be willing to pay for them to be in jail in YOUR state! You do NOT pay for the HUGE amount of illegals that we have here in the state of CA. I am tired of supporting the endless supply that floods our state every year.

When I am struggling to put 3 kids through college without their having to use student loans, I will be darned if I am going to support a bill that allows illegal aliens to receive scholarships here in CA!

And as far as sounding tough on illegals-YOU BET I AM! My Grandmother came here LEGALLY-she did ALL that was asked of her! She not only had to have a command of the ENGLISH language, she had to have a certain amount of cash in the bank, an American sponsor, illness free, and a job that was waiting for her. She then had so much time to become an American citizen. AND she had to wait her turn IN LINE to go through the process!

I will not turn a blind eye to those that think that they are above the law, can skip over others, or feel that they have a right to benefits that American Citizens have!

This sounds like it is the most logical solution. I don't know why we don't do this. If people can legally be here to just do what we want them to anyway, so much crime would simply evaporate.

And supposedly, this fire's intensity really was helped along by global warming, at least this is what some are saying. The thing is that some fairly urban areas got burned. Not out in the boondocks someplace, but kind of right in town.

If you want to get mad and rant and rave, them throw out the bums in office who allow this to happen and elect someone who will.

SPP-looters and illegal aliens are 2 seperate issues. And I find it interesting that when you voice your opinions they are just that opinions-when someone else does the same, they "rant and rave". Hmmmm.

And who do you think could do that job? Obviously it isn't a Clinton-they were in office for 8 years and did nothing to tighten borders or handle immigration.

You're using all caps to get your point and you're advocating suspending the law in favor of shooting on sight. I'd call that ranting and raving. I'd suggest your anger is misdirected.

Who mentioned Clinton? There's a few Republicans who are hard core against illegals. Check them out.

Plus, the Supreme Court has handed down a multitude of cases regarding cruel and unusual punishment. Just yesterday, the court in Georgia released someone who received a "cruel and unusual" punishment for consensual oral sex with a minor. The same principles apply here.

Yup, just throw those civil liberties out the door when it's inconvenient.

God, the things some people say are downright CREEPY when it comes to this stuff.

    America is so done.

I don't know, maybe jail perhaps and then deportation?

But naaah, I like these idea's a whooole lot better, let's just get some rope (assuming they didn't steal that too) and lynch them in the stadium during the half time game. The rest of the world will understand, no need for rule of law and all that. YEEE HAAAW!

Honestly, when DB made this post, I thought it was just going to be a free-for-all illegal bashing, but it has turned waaaay darker than I imagined. Anyway, if this is the America you guys want, fortunately I can say you will NEVER get it lol, even with Bush in charge ;).

But hey, here's an idea, if you REALLY want to see petty crimes treated with some of the harshest ways imaginable, move to North Korea. They DO hang people for stealing, no REALLY, they do!! If you don't get that as a penalty, they send you to a labour camp to live out your punishment for stealing something as simple as a loaf of bread. And what's even BETTER you ask?? NO immigration problem lol. Z-E-R-O!!! No one is trying to sneak into North Korea, trust me. Matter of fact, everyone is sneaking OUT to down here in South Korea, so if you are looking for a way to kill (litterally) two birds with one stone, you found your paradise people!!!

Kim Jung Ill himself might even greet you at the airport!

    (BTW, this thread is DISGUSTING!!!!)
