Also, is it suppose to be totally different than the attraction at WDW?

I don't think it'll be two stories in the traditional sense. It could have very large show rooms, but I doubt any areas of the track will criss-cross. There may be minor changes in elevation, but not like Alice or Horizons or Test Track.

But the actual mermaid ride is being built, as we speak, as part of the new Fantasyland Forest expansion.

    Concept art of the facade:

And overview of Fantasyland Forest, you can see the mermaid facade on it's own waterfront:

I am glad you are happy about LM. In Europe, the fans are quite annoyed because originally a LM ride was planned to open in DLP not long after the park opened. It is yet to arrive.

Personally, I am not a fan. I wish Disney would do more non charater stuff, like the old days. 90% of the time, their non character stuff is much higher quality. The jury is open until we see more, but I have yet to ride an animation focused attraction that holds my interest (Monsters Inc is the closest, but still not a must do).

I'm willing to bet some money that something like the WDW Fantasyland expansion will come to DL eventually. The Princess franchise is just too valuable for Disney to not exploit them in the same manner at their parks worldwide.

It wouldn't be as large an area as the WDW expansion, but then again they wouldn't need the LM ride space.

I hope they don't. Except for the LM ride, the WDW expansion looks to me like a glorified series of meet and greets. Well designed, pretty meet and greets, but still. Not something most adults without small girls would be into, or most little boys, or teenagers... It's an awful lot of space to devote to something like that, and would take away the potential FrL E ticket we keep hoping for.

WDW needed SOMETHING to freshen up a very stale and thin FaL, and they had the old sub space to spare. DL doesn't. If they really, really, really feel they need a princess meet and greet, let them keep the current space - IMO it's a waste of a fine theatre space already, but of course I'm not the target audience.

Along those lines, what is actually going where Mickey currently lives is still up in the air. While parts of Toon Town Fair will become Mermaid and the new Dumbo, a fairly large chunk toward the rear is unaccounted for - said to be Fairies and a ride but Disney wont commit to that.

So, in theory, Disneyland could build over their Toon Town as well - all MK is keeping is the kiddie coaster (rethemed) and the train station (rethemed).

As far as the LM Dark Ride goes, I am interested. Mostly because both Disney and Universal are opening state of the art Dark Ride attractions and From what I understand both are pulling out all the stops. It will be interesting to see who comes up with the better attraction. But either way Orlando is getting 2 over the top dark rides. YEAH Otown. Oh, and goo for DCA too.
