I had posted earlier about finding a wheelchair to rent at Disneyland, as my 12 year old son tore his ACL during football. Took care of that...figured even if we were slowed down, we'd still be at Disneyland and make the best of it...then a few weeks ago, same (accident prone) child fell down a hill on his crutches, caught his rib cage with the crutch, and cracked a rib. Okay, I'm thinking...he's already in a wheelchair and on pain meds, so he's still good to go (I know, I know. I'm going for Mother of the Year). Well, then 2 days later I'm driving the younger son to his flag football game and we are rear ended big time. The back end of the van is smashed in completely, and all three of us have major neck and lower back pain. The doctor said we could go, but couldn't go on any 'fast rides'. Or, as he suggested, why not fly down to California, but just don't go to Disneyland. "There's plenty of other things you could do." Right. He recommended we postpone, but I was hoping we'd miraculously get better. Since that doesn't seem to be happening, I guess we're going to cancel. I am just so bummed.
I don't know if any of my reservations can help anyone, or can be 'transfered' even ...but we have Hojo reservations from Nov 9-14 (entertainment rate for 12 and 13) and BB reservations made 60 days ago, as well as various other dining reservations that aren't probably as critical.
Again, sorry for the depressing (for me) post. I'll now return you to your regularly scheduled (happy) programming. :)

Is there any way you could reschedule for some time in December or January?

Minniefan...if I can call and 'switch' the reservation, I'd be happy to. I'll call and see what the scoop is. Is your email in your profile?

But seriously, I really am sorry for you. Anticipation is half the fun of the Disneyland trip. What a HUGE disappointment!

The really bad, bad part about it was that the trip was for the whole extended family and I was the one that did all the planning for the trip. So off went everyone else, and we were stuck left behind. So we were really depressed! But you know, good things do happen from bad.....

We ended up going a couple of weeks later on our own, and when we did, we met this fantastically nice lady while standing in line and she invited us to dine at Club 33 as her guests! That would never have happened otherwise. Plus, we made a great new Disney friend.

So, the good news is...things sometimes happen for a reason and maybe something "special" will come out of it for your family as well.

I'm really, truly sorry...I hope you all feel better soon and can plan another trip in the not too distant future.

I hope you get to reschedule soon and everything works out perfectly.

(Maybe the Dec. rates will come down as the time draws nearer or something like that.) If you do start to feel better, you can usually find a good sale at SWA and good hotel rates pop up at Kayak.com quite often.

I did one a few months after my original trip. It was fun to start the planning all over again. Hope you all feel better soon!

I'm really sorry disney4life. I'm sure that everything you and your family were going through was helped by knowing that your vacation was coming up. Here on LP we do understand that a trip to DLR isn't just a vacation.

I'd love to have seen your face when the Dr. suggested that you could go to CA but not go to Disneyland :)

Be sure to let us know when you reschedule.

It rained alot but was less crowded like my husband likes it so he was had way more fun they he usually does, so this made it more fun for the girls and I. The best part was since we knew we would come back this X-mas we decided to get APs. We were able to go 5 times this year, so something good came of having to wait

So, I can only imagine how upset/disappointed you must be. Good luck and I hope everyone recuperates quickly. It'll make your next trip that much more enjoyable.
