The second route would be a reasonably-worded letter to the editor, to be printed in that section of the newspaper. It wouldn't be necessarily seen by the same eyes as the original article, but it WOULD set the record straight.

You could also phone a radio station it may not have the same reach but it would be something. Be strong, be proud, but be level-headed. It should get you farther. I think they just want to play up this one lil' lassie.
