I was given a little 'insider information' from a cast member..that I was told I was NOT supposed to find out, or anyone else on the ship. There had been a 'GI' virus breakout on the cruise and I was told it was 'really bad!!' Which would explain why the buffets were shut down and there was entire block of rooms blocked off (for ill passengers.) This is info they WILL NOT tell you... It was VERY HUSH HUSH...and it was strange that the bars were empty, nobody was participating in kareoke night, nothing...just strange. The person who told me was very nervous after and kept saying I REALLY was NOT supposed to tell you that...NOBODY is supposed to know this. So my point in putting this on here is to give anyone who may be going on the Disney Wonder a 'heads up'...those viruses are very difficult to wipe out (obviously!!) so if you ARE going...wash wash wash wash wash your hands very diligently...keep your fingers out of your mouth, and if you are so inclined, the cm told me to 'stay away from buffets!!'..not sure if any other guests are ok with that, but I sure was, if it meant it would keep me healthy during my trip, it's worth it! Usually this information they are not required to give out to the passengers unless it is astronomical numbers, they only need to report it if it gets to a certain number, and even then, you still won't hear about it. The only info we got was a standard typed letter saying there is a GI virus going around the UNITED STATES (??????!!!!) so practice good hygeine blah blah blah...right, but they don't come right out and say 'there are very sick people on the ship, so be careful." Hope this helps future cruise goers.

Glad you didn't get sick Kimrue :)
