Are there certain places, events, or times in DL that inside you seems to say "Ah, this is magic!" Where and how have you experienced it.

One time at almost dark (late dusk), I was walking the back way from Fantasyland to Frontierland. About half way, I heard the rumbling of Thunder Mountain, the whistle of the Mark Twain, and music from the carousel in Fantasyland. For me, time seemed to stand still and I felt like it was heaven on earth. That moment has always remained with me.

How and where in Disneyland have you experienced the "Magic."

    Thanks

Big Thunder at night manages to make me feel like I'm nowhere near real life or a massive city. Pretty much any area that is quiet and doesn't have a bunch of people in it (Big Thunder Trail, NOS w/o F!, JC), especially at night, just seems to make it work for me.

I just keep thinking how much I would have loved to hug Walt Disney and just say THANK YOU....

The spot that gets me the most I think, while there or looking at pictures between trips, is seeing the carousel turning through the Castle while still behind the rope on Main Street.
Seeing the Christmas decorations comes in on top of the list.
Hearing the Matterhorn bobsleds while in line for Alice.

And before you enter the park, right after the security check, where the different Disney songs play. And when we drive up to our hotel on Harbor and you can see the top of the Matterhorn and the Tower of Terror! I think the question is where in Disneyland do you NOT feel the magic? Even the bathrooms are magical!

I just know I am approaching my HappyPlace and can't wait to walk through the gates hearing the little chirp as my AP is scanned and my picture flashes up on the screen with the words Welcome Back - I feel totally calm and no longer have a worry in the world.

To pick one spot is impossible, but seeing the Carousel spinning through the gate of Sleeping Beauty Castle at night stops me in my tracks every time.

You hear the music, the noises, and the smell just makes my heart skip a beat.

-Walking past the teacups and simultaneously hearing their theme music plus the monster from the Matterhorn.

-Walking through the LEFT SIDE tunnel onto Main Street and hearing the music and "Your attention please!" coming from the Railroad.

-The smell when you walk into Pirates of the Caribbean!!!

-Getting a big pickle from the stand outside The Jungle Cruise and then taking it to the back row of the Tiki Room, putting my feet up (as long as nobody is in front of me) and singing along!

-Getting my fortune told by Emeralda. First thing. Always.

I could go on and on...

I guess the magic begins for me when the airport shuttle bus enters the Disneyland area… and I tear up. I just cannot help it and I feel like this is truly the happiest place on earth… what else would cause such a stir of emotion in a grown woman.

The special moments that symbolise magic at Disneyland for me are:-
    Seeing the front gates
    Mickey floral
Seeing the train at Main Street Station
Walking under the tunnel entering Town Square
Walking past the Fire Station, looking up at Walt’s window and saying “thank youâ€
The excitement of seeing the early morning characters at Town Square
Walking down Main Street – rushing with everyone else to be the “first†on fav ride
Hearing the guns from Jungle Cruise
    Seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle
    Rivers of America area
    Casey Jnr
Sitting in New Orleans Square, by the fountain and absorbing the atmosphere
    Matterhorn
    All of Fantasyland
    Churros

But that sound more than any other brings the magic to me.

Another Disneyland magical place is Splash Mountain during a night when the park is open late. We would wait and enter the queue right around closing. By the time our ride was over we were able to meandering quietly through Critter Country, Frontierland and out to Main Street. Loved it!!!

Looking at the Small World clock facade. I just love it! totally miss it here at WDW.

Any bench where I can watch families interact with Mickey. Always see magic happen there.

    Rebekah.

We also have such a great time talking about all the wonderful things we are going to do once we get to our Happy Place when we are driving there (all 3 hours)..... the rides, games, food, SMELLS, sounds, etc....
*SIGH* I just LOVE this place........

    Walking through POTC and HM!

(Use to be) getting on the People Mover and watching tomorrowland all around you!

    Riding on Space Mountain, everytime!

That final huge drop on Splash Mountain.

    Fantasmic and Believe fireworks!!!!!

Seeing the Indiana Jones temple while riding the Jungle Cruise and the exotic feel of it all. It's something cool about it and I seen the real stuff in Asia many times over.

Lastly, probably the last hour of the night when the park is emptying and you feel like you got the place 'to yourself'. I actually grab a box of popcorn and spend my time just circling the park listening to the music and all the ambiant sounds that place brings. I do this also at TDL and TDS as well!

Yeah, I truly love these parks!
