Well, yesterday when Orddu and I went to order ourselves some of the tasty ice cream we've always enjoyed, we were surprised to find out that there's a new kind of vanilla ice cream being sold at the Magic Kingdom, now, which doesn't taste nearly so good at the kind they used to sell! It's not even white! It's yellow! And it doesn't have the creamy goodness of the former ice cream. ORDDU: I'm afraid Orwen is right. This new ice cream comes across more like yogurt than anything else. It's very watery and unappealing. We asked a manager about it had he admitted they've changed vendors. We expressed our distaste for the change and, while he couldn't express his agreement, his facial reaction seemed to indicate that he did agree. We mentioned that, once again, Disney management has gone and fixed something that wasn't broken. ORWEN: Declining by degrees, Kevin Yee would say. But who ever thought it would start affecting the soft serve ice cream you buy at the parks? I guess we'll just have to buy those Haagendas Ice cream bars from now on and forget about soft serve...

But then walked me over to what I call the 'DVC special' frozen refrig. cases to show that Disney did still sell pre-packaged gelatos (three flavors now, chocolate, cookies and cream and mango) but said it wasn't the same. I'm sure they took the gelato away due to guest requests ... just like thr prime rib at Boma ... oh, and the linen napkins there too!

On the other hand maybe someone should go on a Disney diet and trumpet all the weight they lost only eating Disney food, kind of like Jared at subway. Besides, Who can afford to eat enough Disney food to gain weight anyway. I think my head is gonna explode. If they want me to lose weight, why are they giving me the Disney dining plan for free? Someone stop the madness!!! .....i'm so confused......

He says it's as if the managers and accountants think the public is too dumb to notice the difference between good quality food and bad quality food. They're wrong. ORWEN: They've just become so greedy within the Disney company. Everyone one of those bad decision makers ought to have to eat their own slop every day and then have their wages garnished to pay for it until they put the quality BACK! ORDDU: There are still a few good items left but for how long? It's like a scavenger hunt to find food at the parks that's still worth the prices--or to just find food that good PERIOD! ORWEN: Oh, and hello to you too, Mr. X, duckling! We would fly our brooms over to Tokyo Disneyland, too, but that park was cursed for us because the Horned King used to have an attraction inside Cinderella's Castle. Even though the Castle tour doesn't exist any more, the Horned King left his curse behind and it's deadly for us cauldron gals.

They've substituted something good with something inferior--a watered down soft serve that's yellow instead of white and it melts faster than the original soft serve that they used to sell. Supposedly this is a property wide change for the worse. ORWEN: The regular ice cream that you can still get on Main Street hasn't changed. It's only the soft serve ice cream that's been ruined. (Well, ruined for us at least. Maybe others won't notice but we'd sure be surprised if they didn't.)

But it's much thinner and not as tasty. Doesn't compare with the prime rib I had on DCL. Of course, they did also add a container of what looks like 'Sam's Club' bagged iceberg salad mix because apparently many guests won't eat 'weeds' (at least that's what a sucky CM told me). Obviously, I'd still go to Boma, but there's no denying a Walmarting effect.
