We have done the day and days after and they have had to close the gates (both times that we have been there in the past few years) due to CROWDS OF PEOPLE!

If you are a REAL people lover you will have a good time-expect long lines in both the restaurants and rides. Some people aren't bothered at all by the crowds-for me, when you can't move because of a mass of humanity, then I would rather go another time.

But if the crowds are still pretty heavy after CD, then I'll let them know.

They'll be visiting down here for more than one day, but can only afford DL for one day and they don't get to go very often so they wanna enjoy it as much as they can and the thought of heavy crowds has them wondering when's a good time to go that time of year. But it sounds like it can be pretty crowded any day around Christmas?

I think the day after C'mas day might be the absolute busiest!

I flew down for the day on Dec. 28th last year to meet up with Debtee. The line for Pirates wound back and forth along the river front between Pirates and Haunted Mansion.

Maybe going on Christmas Day and getting there before opening? Maybe a couple hours in the morning before it gets packed ??

If they're in town at all the week before... come before the 22nd!

Ya know, it's interesting you point that out. You'd think everyone else would be doing traditional stuff, when at the same time all those folks you think are doing traditional things at home on Christmas Day, they're all at Disneyland!!! :p Ok unless they're doing the traditional things first thing as everyone else does.

But ya know what, I was telling them anyways I rather go on Christmas or a little before it because going the day after to me is just not the same. So we'll see. Whatever day we go around that time, I think I'll still have to pay *some* money to get in as my AP is blocked out around Christmas.

    Yikes. What about FastPass?

I don't know if you've used your AP yet... if not, the first day of use is never blocked.

Haven't used it yet - in more ways than one :( The first day of use is never blocked? Even if it were used on a blockout day?

    Mom's recently added questions:

When does the Christmas parade start and end (not schedule, but when in December do they run it and whens the last day they run it)?

How long are the decorations up? Like, when are they first put up and when are they taken down?

Is there a day thats less crowded before Christmas Day? (LuLu, I believe you said before the 22nd was good? By or before it?)

They said they really wanna enjoy and see all the decorations, she wants him to see Fantasmic! (I joked wouldn't it be funny if they decorated *that* for Christmas?). They definately wanna see the parade as well.

Back to the traditions, yeah folks usually would do the traditional Christmas activities first thing, and not all of them have something to do afterwards with relatives and such so what we did as Mom was reminiscing, was go the movies and I guess they were letting folks in without charge figuring a lot of them may not have much to do. In this case, a lot of folks go to Disneyland to kill the rest of the day.
