We spent the next month building up Food Rocks telling him that it was the best roller coaster ride at WDW. We had him convinced that part way through the show, the whole theatre dropped onto a track for an amazing ride. He bought it hook line and sinker! When it came time for our trip, he wanted to spend the first day at EPCOT so he could go on Food Rocks as many times as possible. He was so excited that it actually made that time watching Food Rocks the best ever… we were all standing and into the show like it was a real concert… a cast member pulled us aside after the show and thanked us for our enthusiasm because it made the show fun for everyone. The theatre never dropped and became a roller coaster, but we still had a great time, and our friend thought it was hilarious that he had bought into our joke. To make amends, we bought him a Food Rocks pin to remember our joke. Good times… now lets hear your stories!

It was kind of funny when she asked the CM at the end if it was true and was told absolutely not. Of course, my wife was quite embarassed , but equally pleased when she find out that she did hit a big target. .... Guess you had to be there.

I don't have a "played an innocent joke on friends" WDW story. My WDW story is that I had been DYING to visit a Disney Park since I was a little kid. Flash forward... In college, all the students with money -- i.e., everyone but me -- went to Florida for Spring Break. I always stayed on campus and worked. One year six of my acquaintences -- four women, two men -- were going to drive down to Pompano Beach together. Close to the last minute, one of the guys cancelled. The other five asked me to fill in. I agreed. The "joke" was on me: I subjected myself to two days in a car and a week in Florida with these five people just so that I could have six or seven hours at the Magic Kingdom. Once there, no time for practical jokes. In fact, about 20 into our WDW visit, I said, "You know what? You're slowing me down. I'll see you back here at 6. Bye!"

When we got off, we saw another group from the band, and told them that it was the best ride ever. One girl remembered it from a previous trip, and said it was terrible. We replied that it was different (I'm sure there was something slightly different...a burned out lightbulb or something), and way twisty and curvy. We made these hand motions that made it look like there were drops and stuff too. Then we told them that the end was really crazy (since we made fun of how the 'thrilling nudge' from the boat behind you at the load dock is the best part), and they would never see it coming. After going on it, the next time they saw us, they were less than pleased to have had to sit through the entire thing with so little payoff for it, especially with all the build up.

The mischievous look on my face gave me away, but she tried it anyway. Bless her. She didn't speak to me much for the rest of the day ...
