Interesting choice of music...is that Samuel Barber? Last time I heard that was in "Platoon".

Mind, I'm not offended, but given that, from my understanding, the creators and many of the writers of the show are gay, it's hard not to believe they were just sticking it to the Mormons for prop 8. On the flip side, in the information age, I find it a bit childish to try and keep this sort of thing secret. Anyone with Google can find out anything they like. Other religions have ceremonial clothing and rites, so it's no big shock. It does seem like a clubhouse with a "no girls allowed" sign and a girl just snuck in. Childish on both sides, actually.

It seems that with every generation the desire to be a Freemason or a Shriner fizzles away. Even the Catholic Church has a version of this silliness: The Knights of Columbus, which was created by Fr. McGivney as a "safe" substitute for the temptation of becoming a Freemason.

Today if you walk into any KofC meeting hall you will see oceans of gray all over the place. They tried to recruit me and I found it to be very dull, so I thanked them and went my merry way. That said the Knights do nice things like raise money for all sorts of charities, which is a worthwhile endeavor. I just think that they should drop the faux secret society schtick and get on with business.

Regarding the temple ceremony....I thought it was pretty close. The outfits were a little off I thought. And for those of you not familiar with the ceremony, they only showed the last few minutes of what is about an hour to hour and a half long deal. But I think they nailed the "celestial room". That's exactly how I remember it. Creepy.

However, I do agree that showing the ceremony was unnecessary. I'm not sure what it accomplished other than ticking off the LDS.

    Jesus!

It's just as bad as being a Catholic!

    That's "heaven", right?

I get the feeling god isn't very creative. :p

Oh you have no idea. Well, actually you probably do by now. ;-)

At least in mass you can sit back and tune out for the most part. There is a heck of a lot more "participation" in LDS temple ceremonies. It's really bizarre.

    <<God likes Hilton hotels.>>

LOL! Where's the hotel bar in the celestial room?? If they put one in I might try to go back! (although hitting the bar ahead of time might make more sense)
