    We have a pretty dish for the table, so some is there, while the rest of the box is in the fridge.

    Fruit - Out and in, depending on how soon we'll eat it. Never bananas.

    We lived in the marina for ten years. Out bread would grow mold in a day. Old habit now.

    BBQ/Steak Sauces - In
    I like my BBQ sauce cold.

    Fruit - BOTH - depends on the fruit. (Apples, grapes, etc are IN. Bananas, citrus, etc are OUT. Seasonal fruits like peaches, nectarines, plums depend on the weather. If it's going to be too hot, they're IN.)

    Ketchup - IN. Force of habit. I don't like cold ketchup either, but doesn't it ferment in the cupboard? We don't use much, so I would think it would turn faster in the cupboard.


    Butter/Margarine - BOTH. I buy the soft kind in a tub for toast & sandwiches, so it needs to stay in the fridge. If we run out of that, I'll stick a cube or two on the butter dish on the counter so it's soft enough, but not often.


    Fruit - IN, Bananas on the counter. I HATE fruit flies. *shudder*


    Bread - OUT
    I freeze the excess too, but always a loaf out. With three teenagers, it only lasts maybe a day anyway.

    BBQ/Steak Sauces - In - for the same reason as the ketchup.

    Never ever kept a stick of salami in the refrigerator, maybe because my family had a linguisa factory at one time and made their own it came from there. My great grandma used to hang it with her pots and pans over the table on one of those cooking racks. She had salami, cheese and wine for lunch everyday of her life. I've never known to stick it in the frig.

    Mrs. Nurmi I don't think I've ever considered salami meat, it's just salami. LOL! We only eat this kind...

    If on rare occasion we buy it sliced from the deli or in the package (blech) we do refrigerate that.

    (We keep our bread and tortillas in a basket on top of the fridge. We also freeze loaves sometimes. I do keep homemade bread in the fridge.)
