(Though enough of Epcot is going to 'toons as it is) The MK is all about magic and fantasy. So "tooning it" fits? Disneyland on the other hand doesn't have a separate Epcot park. So the Toonification of it's Tomorrowland is more of an issue.

Then TL'98 which looking back NOW, was not THAt bad, considering OURS. and MK got teh Future That Never Was. First w/ cartoon toy robots, then w/ annoying aliens, and now w/ Monsters who have NO BUSINESS being there. THEY DO NOT FIT. THEY DO NOT HELP THE THEME PERIOD! This is just Rasulo and Weiss shoving things in to make the parks "global" and WDI running out of ideas. This is a disgrace to the orignal concept and as far as im concerend TL is now DEAD. IF DL opened the Rocket Rods again theyd have the BEST TL.

Add Stitch, Mike & Sully to Jim's list with the potential of more animated features finding a home in the carousel footprints of both TLs and it certainly looks like this issue is here to stay. I also don't find comfort in Future World presence. Not when it's vibe is more fragmented than DCA. Future World and Tomorrowland can and should coexist. The problem is both are severely lacking what once made them come off better. IMO.

Stitch, well, that's just a weird mentality that won't last long. It's a surefire thing that CARS will now take over the Tomorrowland Speedway. It's just a matter of time. As long as they keep the main theme the same (kids driving cars), then I won't worry too much about it. I've never been a big fan of the speedway, anyway. I was a huge fan of 20K, and now that Nemo is going in at DL, I'm getting used to the idea. I hate the Pooh's Playground, though. They need to keep it real. Before too long, everything is going to get away from the greatness that made DL/WDW so awesome. Theming with and without characters made it a fun day for everybody involved... Remember the Golden Horseshoe Review? MEET WOODY, PEOPLE!!! Oy....

People are familiar with the characters already, so they go in with SOME kind of expectation. You expect Stitch or Buzz to act a certain way. Whereas an entirely new attraction, like Pirates, Country bear Jamboree, or Journey into Imagination just surprise you because everything is new. I would LOVE to see Disney take on a new tale and not rely on the old crutch of animated characters. Those belong in Fantasyland, Toontown, or Disney Studios.

However, on the flip side, I never got the connection of the Speedway in TL either and everyone seems to love that -- the lines are always long. I think the WDI needs to push aside all movie related character connections (as they loose popularity anyway) and come up with something unique -- use Minnie and Mickey if they have to have characters but make it new and different.
