I think that is the best way to view this version of the Castle.

It wasn’t the first of the “full” cake overlays - that belongs to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris.

Unfortunately (or not) I never got to the first anniversary of the Parisian park for that ( I think it was up for just a couple of days) but I did for the 5th when the complete “jester” overlay took over for the birthday year and I’ll be doing a similar photo upload on that castle soon.

It seems bizarre that two of the four castles throughout the most of 1997 couldn’t be seen in their original state.

Everytime I think of the Castle Cake, I think of a cheap inflateable decoration one would put in their yard during Holidays.

I think the Park icons should be off limits from now on.

Thanks for the pictures though Lindsay. Sometimes it is fun to look back, even if it is the Cake.

Yah, it was a little tacky and over the top, but what good birthday celebratin isn't?

I'll always remember the sounds it made when the wind blew in just the right direction. All the various inflatable parts moving slightly and rubbing up against each other. Not nessecarily a good sound, but it was one of those little moments that made me happy.

If they were to try doing something like this again now, I'm not so sure I'd still be as supportive of it. We all know how long the 'temporary' decorations seem to stay around these days...

At least they did take it down in a timely fashion.

When I saw it in person rather than in pictures, I agree with you, it was ugly.

For the 25th, I'm glad that I didn't see the castle, all of the pictures that I saw were pretty bad. Please lets not repeat that one.

You never know. I don't remember anything for the 30th or 35th though. I just hope they leave the Park Icons alone in the future.
