We're staying in the Disneyland Hotel in November for our 4th wedding anniversary. It's such a long way to come from Australia, and I want it to be special, so I want to phone and request certain views, and take advantage of Vacation Planning for gift baskets and such. Is it too early to phone now for room allocation - if so, how early is not too early?! Thanks!

Play up the wedding anniversary part, too. Tell them you are coming a long, long way and that you saved for a long time, etc.

But I'm always getting discounted rooms, so maybe for full price they can guarantee?

Ask about the Honeymoon Turndown Service. We've had it at the Grand for our anniversary. It's wonderful!

I asked for "before 8 to 8:15pm," and when we got to our room a bit after that time, it hadn't been done. I called and voiced a bit of a complaint, as this was supposed to be a suprise for my husband, then fiance, we were there to celebrate our engagement. I had also ordered the chocolate champagne bottle.

We went to the poolside bar at the DH and waited an hour or so, then went back up, but no fancy turndown service, just a regular one and some cookies with the champagne and chocolate covered strawberies I had ordered. I had specificly asked for the "honeymoon" turndown service, and was disapointed until I had some champagne and chocolate, hee hee.

Maybe they were being strict, as we weren't actualy married yet.... ;-)

I just mean leave a very specific time, maybe an hour or two earlier than you plan on returning. The parks closed at 8 that night so I thought we were safe. In any case, enjoy, and I hope I wasn't too much of a party pooper. :)
