I mean, how will Disney respond to the new HARRY POTTER land at IOA?

While I don't really mind the tie ins with real animals (Dinosaur and Everest don't really bother me), I am afraid that adding fantasy animals from their films would just make it into an extension of Fantasyland. It would feel like they added the area just to sell more DVD's and not really hold onto the integrity of the park. If they want to add movie-based attractions, I would hope that they would stick to real animals to make the connections.

However, if they plan on releasing films based on most of the books, and they continue to be popular, I think that they should put Narnia somewhere in the parks. I really enjoyed TLTWATW, and I'm looking forward to Prince Caspian. I guess we'll just have to wait and see about it.

The good thing is, for the time being, the company is being very careful about what it puts into development, so these should be quality properties with some legs to build attractions upon.

Disney has already severed their deal with Walden Media for movies outside of the Narnia Chronicles, and I get the feeling that they would like to be done with Walden for the long haul if they weren't already committed to this film series. You can bet Disney will pull out the stops to promote this film for the summer audience and then for the DVD release, but I don't expect Disney to invest much effort into a theme park attraction for the long haul.

In fact, we've been hearing that Chronicles of Narnia might eventually receive an E-ticket type attraction--possibly at Disney Hollywood Studios. But to answer your question Dennis, dear, I see no reason why your suggestion couldn't work quite well at Animal Kingdom as part of Beastly Kingdom. Narnia has a whole array of facinating, mythical creatures to contribute.

Good news indeed. Thank you for the insight.

I enjoyed the first NARNIA movie. I hope the second one will live up to the first. I didn;t think the second NATIONAL TREASURES was as good as the first.
