Is the Lego Store next to close?

    Regardless of reasons that will mean that Disney has yet another hole to fill in the DtD landscape.

    And it's basically free advertising for Legoland on Disney property. I don't see why they would close it (especially before the park opens), as it would be a really good way to raise awareness of Legoland...

    Having a Lego store at DTD gives me the opportunity to shop at DTD. I can drag my kid through the Christmas Store, World of Disney, Team Disney, etc because I always promise we will stop at the Lego store before leaving. It usually costs me $30 or so...but it is a small price to pay to be able to tool around DTD for half a day.

    Also it is the only place I have ever found the Chewbacca/Boba Fett keychain.

    I could see how this could come about from a non-compete perspective. Or maybe Disney just wants to raise the rents for DD properties, considering the other turnover. I could even see LEGO preferring to move the store to the Universal/Sea World area for synergy reasons.

    In California there is also a Legoland about a ninety minute drive from Disneyland. It was open, I believe, before Downtown Disney there.
    So, I don't think Disney has a problem with them.
