If you change your childs diaper, do it in the bathroom and not on a tray at Cosmic Ray's. I don't want to get my food put on the tray you left your dirty diaper on. And trash cans are made for one reason. Streets are for walking, trash cans are for your garbage. :)

As you said..>>I do think guests are messier than they used to be.<<

Absolutely correct, but only when parents do not teach their children to be respectful and mindful of their manners. That, plus the fact that NO ONE is being stopped at the front of the park who is bringing food into the park, PLUS, the excessive number of food and drink carts that have sprung up in the parks since the mid-90s... all these things have added up the percentage of output of trash discarded by guests, while at the same time, the number of custodial CMs appear to be at the lowest number ever. While I agree that many people are irresponsible pigs in regards to their trash, Disney is also partly to blame for the excessive availability of food and beverage outlets that contribute to more trash in the park than ever before.

I think it's way pass the time when Disney should have started a "help keep the kingdom clean by depositing garbage in trash cans" advisory, printed in disposable cups and plates throughout the park.

TDLFAN, I chose that word precisely because Dave used it, and you agreed completely with his post (thus also endording the word "filty").

And that's the entire point of the hyperbole that Inspector is talking about, anyway. I was calling you guys out. ;)

Anyway, I doubt you'll get that report from me in any case since I'll almost certainly be skipping the Magic Kingdom...with time constraints and living down the street from Tokyo Disneyland, there is simply NO reason to bother other than Philharmagic, which I've already seen in crappy Hong Kong Disneyland. ;)

OK, I-57 (why am I picturing truck stops?), first I don't like to think of myself as a 'critic' of WDW. A lover of it. A purist. Someone who wants to see Disney live up to its own standards, sure. But critic is so negative a term ... it makes it appear my feelings toward WDW are almost all negative when they are far more positive ... or else I wouldn't keep going.

And, of course, I'm glad you're counting my paragraphs. You do know at the end of your life you're not getting this time back, right?

And I can't answer this question as a yes or no because it just isn't that type of question. Did TDLFAN, who you blatently kiss up to, offer a more succinct view of what I am saying? Yes. But I like being wordy.

<<And that TDLFAN, one of the two posters who prompted this survey by saying that WDW is filthy, does not repeat that strong statement in this thread.>>

Yeah, but even the term 'filthy' is subjective. We all have different views of what that word connotes in our minds.

If pressed, I'd say 'No, the MK is not filthy' ... but I'd also say 'It is often dirty and unkempt in sections and is not maintained to the standards Disney conditioned guests to expect during its first quarter of a century.'

Any better, I-57 (is there a Wendy's at the next exit?)

He's just harsher with you because he just doesn't like ya (or that's the impression I've gotten anyway). ;)

Then why bother with this poll then? Should you care what others think of the cleanliness at the MK if you don't care to find out for yourself?
Besides... Philharmagic is just one miniscule reason to go back to the MK. Take all of the other things, crappy or not, that you have not seen yet.. such as the pixar shows in TL, the new Haunted Mansion re-do, which will probably put TDL's to shame, the new boutique for your little princess in the castle, the new electromen heads in the electrical parade, "Wishes" which is a fine pyro display... etc etc etc.

    >>living down the street from Tokyo Disneyland, there is simply NO reason...<<

Hello? I am 12 mins away from WDW, and I go out of my way to enjoy the TDL experience simply because the difference in quality and quantity is HUGE. But as I have suspected all along... only a real dedicated Disney fan would care about this, which is why you probably don't.

    >>...other than Philharmagic, which I've already seen in crappy Hong Kong Disneyland.<<

See? there you go again. Maybe I should place a stupid poll in the HKDL section asking those who have been if the limited availability of rides/shows at that particular park, make it "crappy", which you know as well as I do, it is not, just the same way you know that I know the MK is not "filthy". Dirty to a certain degree..yes. In regards to HKDL, "crappy" is a huge word to use, since there is some quality aspects in that park that the MK is currently lacking... Then again, only a dedicated fan would know.

Inspector57 is "kissing up" to me?? First news! I thought he actually put my rants in a different perspective, which allowed me to re-consider my views on things! Is that what "kissing up" means dear Spirit???

No. I realize that. What can I say, TDLFAN doesn't always have the best taste ;-)

What I meant was I-57 praised TDLFAN for saying what I did in a lot fewer words.

And I agree with him on that.

<<He's just harsher with you because he just doesn't like ya (or that's the impression I've gotten anyway). ;)>>

I don't know why. I'm a lovable little Spirit and I certainly mean no ill-will toward him (or anyone else here for that matter). I just have a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge, some very strong opinions and I don't water them down with weak words.

Now, there has to be some reasons for this. It's not that people are dirtier at the MK because there's so much magic around they can't help but drop their pizza remnants in the middle of a walkway.

Those reasons are why I bother to complain. Because I know Disney is cutting corners ... and I know the management that is doing so ... and I know how this reflects the bottom line in a positive fashion even as it damages the Disney 'brand.'

Now, that is NOT nice Spirit. I concider Inspector57 and YOU very dear friends... so does that mean I chose poorly by being a friend of yours as well? Just because Inspector57 does not agree with your style or opinions, it does not make him an arse. He is NOT. He is a very good person and quite a good Disney friend. Likewise, I know you in reality to say the same positive things about you as a person, knowing that I can separate the "Spirit" from the person that actually types those posts.

I think you need to apologize to Inspector57 since he is entitled to his opinions about anything and anyone on this board, just like you and I. Please.

I-57 can feel anyway about me or what I post that he chooses. I have no opinion of him other than he seems to enjoy engaging me. That's fine. I'm glad to hear you think he's a nice person because you know I highly regard your opinion.

That's really all I can say.

FWIW, we have agreed on some things of late as shocking as that might be.

This doesn't make sense to me.

So you're saying that because you go out of your way to enjoy better quality Disney offerings in Japan as a "true fan", I should do the opposite and go see the park that you claim has gone way downhill, for the same reason?

    Huh?

Well, anyway whatever. You don't want to consider me a "true fan" and that's fine cause I just go to the parks for fun...not to analyse every little detail to death and go to amusement parks with the bulk of my free time, several times a month (or MORE!).

I'm no fanatic, and there are plenty of other things in life to enjoy other than Disney. :)

Wrong. I truly do feel Hong Kong Disneyland is crappy, cheap and lame.

I am doubtful that the Magic Kingdom is truly "filthy" though. ;)
