That would be because you are putting proverbial words in my mouth. I actually *want* you to go so you can make your own opinion of the park in regards to the problems many discuss here. Buut you seem to be affraid of finding out for yourself, even if what you are affraid of learning isn't even true!!! Confused?

And yes... like you so eloquently proclaim... I have no life. I do not have a child and a wife to attend to like yoou do. My husband is out of the house away at work more often than the time he is in.. so yes I am a *fanatic* Disney freak and PROUD OF IT. I am glad I have the right job and free time to enjoy my hobby to the fullest possible degree.

Yes, yes, I understand what you are driving at.

And it would make sense if I'd never been there, but I've been to the magic kingdom probably 50-100 times in my life.

So, if it's gone downhill as you say, why the heck would I want to go back there?

Sure, if they'd added some neat new stuff, I'd want to check it out...but it sounds to me like the other parks have cooler additions anyway (Epcot and Animal Kingdom are my main priorities if time becomes a factor).

But I'm certainly not "afraid to find out" lol. If it's dirty, it wouldn't surprise me (I'm plenty cynical about Disney and the cost cutting thing), nor would it particularly bother me.

As for enjoying your hobby, have at it! I'm not saying you shouldn't, but if you really want to compare the level of time and detail (and MONEY, considering your frequent shopping sprees lol) that you spend on the parks worldwide compared to others as a measure of someone being a "true fan", then I think you might just be in a league of your own. ;)

Heck, I could WALK to TDR from my house, and I don't even own an annual pass! ;)

How much more of a "true fan" could I be!? ;)

TDLFAN goes "above and beyond" for LP by taking time out of his international Park visits to photo-document new and interesting events, attractions, construction, and states-of-being of the Parks. Even if he's on a brief visit to Tokyo and only has one opportunity to experience a particular parade or water show, he does it with his camera to his face so that he can share it with us. And then he comes home, downloads, captions, and uploads. And writes an extensive post for the edification and enjoyment of LP readers to accompany the generous Epson photo show. His commentaries are informed, balanced, intelligently critical, and entertaining.

When he expends that time and energy, I try to show that I appreciate his effort. I know that these reports don't create themselves. And I know that too small a percentage of LP readers will respond with any acknowledgement.

I don't consider my (insufficient) "THANK YOU!" posts on these threads to be "kissing up".

But I am aware every time I post one that people might think I'm doing it because I'm a "fan." Wrong.

Perhaps as many times as I've gushed with gratitude on LP over his Park updates -- and despite the fact that we're friends in "real life" -- I've taken him to task on LP over posts in which I've disagreed with him or found him to be offensive. We've "had it out" on LP a few times.

One difference between TDLFAN and Spirit of 74 is that when I disagree with TDLFAN on LP, he never responds with cleverly couched character assasination.

He's still a cantankerous fella though, at least online. :p

People have short attention spans (well, some do) and looking at 300 pics is a bit much. TDLFAN is an amazing photographer (I've often told him he could do a better job than the staff photogs at WDW).

    As to this:

I reject your assertion. I don't attack people's character unless they do likewise to me.

    Simple as that.

    Factually incorrect.

There you go. Yet another reason to go to the MK so you can see the hundreds of guests around your age and mine, who are so big for being sedentary, they must roll around WDW in those electric carts, which is a sight you do not see at TDR quite as often, if ever.

Never ONCE. Not weight related, anyway (of course, I've seen people in wheelchairs or otherwise incapacitated...but never any enormous folks rolling around, no).

But my point is why would the term typical tourist feel insulting? It's the perfect example of how people can misinterpret what is being said or look at a word and consider it one way when someone else sees the same word and sees it entirely differently. Filthy, typical tourist, it all depends on how you look at it.

I agree. Even though he thinks I'm ethnocentric Minnesotan with a frozen brain and blinders on; I think he is a great contributor to LP.

But I still think he is Mr. Crankypants...

    ;-)

No, it isn't. I don't spend my time here attacking people. I'm sorry if you're so obsessed you feel that way.

But if it makes you feel better, I'll just say you're a big poopie-head and move on.
