It just seemed SO abrupt, and of course there really wasn't any time left.

I know their is a huge Country following that actually watches and votes on American Idol, so I guess that explains that one. But Katherine McPhee has proven nothing but that she is really good at cracking under pressure. Taylor is awesome for comic relief and Elliot just doesn't have anything else going for him other than his voice. Yesterday was a sad sad day. Oh well, maybe Taylor will win and Simon will hault production of the show because of it!

Yet, I think America wasn't ready for another rocker like Bo Bice. Nor is America ready for another country singer like Carrie Underwood, which is why Kellie Pickler left. I think America is really for a lounge singer like Taylor Hicks. Too bad for Simon Cowell.

Who of the 4 is most like the Spirit of Elvis ? The rocker Chris doing the King of Rock & Roll or Little Elliot who looks more like Beaver than Elvis Joe Cocker impersonator Taylor or memory challenged Katherine ?

I don't think the intention is to impersonate Elvis, nor match Elvis' style... it's to try and give these songs a fresh take, stamp it wth ther own personality and sound. Taylor did that, as did Elliott, in my opinion.
