We packed up all of our stuff and my dad delivered more stuff to Brian and Alison for them to take home since they had to get my stuff in their car now. After checking out, we headed over to the Disneyland Hotel for our breakfast with Goofy! When we got to Goofy's Kitchen, it was barely crowded and no one was there to play with Pluto. So he started playing with us! At one point he got down on all fours and was chasing Jake around the waiting area, it was SO cute! We were quickly seated and had yummy, yummy food in front of us! My favorite was the little bit sized lemon cheesecake. Yum, it was SOOOO good! The characters were awesome and Jacob was SO cute with all of them. he especially loved Dale and Dale loved him right back! He even got out a pen and asked us if he was always so happy! The Fairy Godmother was also wonderful with him. She had him touch her nose and she made a really funny noise each time he did. He loved her! Jake ate some pancakes and fruit and, when he lost interest I let him have ice cream for breakfast! I figured we got to have dessert for breakfast, he should have some too! After we were done with breakfast, I still needed to do some shopping. I had done very little over the last few days, thinking I would get it done the last day of our trip. But the last night I was SO tired and my feet hurt so bad I figured I would just hit World of Disney after Goofy's Kitchen. Mamaw was tired and her back hurt so she and Jake found a nice, shady bench to sit on while Grumpa and I made the trek through Downtown Disney. We arrived at World of Disney at 9:00 to find that it didn't open until 9:30. Oops. I remembered that the Disneyland Hotel gift shop was open so we headed back. I wasn't too thrilled with the selection there. I found a Pirates shirt for me to wear to Jake's first birthday party and a mickey mouse hole punch for scrapbooking (how did I not have one already???). I still had lots of money to spend so I left my parents on their bench and hiked back through Downtown Disney, arriving and World of Disney right before opening. I swear I have never gone through that store so fast! I knew my dad was anxious to get going so I didn't want to take too long. I grabbed Pirate shirts for Chris and Jake and picked up three new pins. I'm not a big pin trader but I like to pick up pins that represent special memories and new experiences. I got a Captain Jack PotC pin, a cute Dumbo pin, and a submarine pin. I also grabbed a very cute Donald Duck Pirate rubber ducky for Jake's rubber ducky collection! We had one more thing to do before heading back home- I wanted to take Jake to the beach. We drove to Huntington Beach, paid $10 for parking, and got some wonderful pictures of Jake experiencing the ocean for the first time. He didn't like when the cold water hit his little toes but he loved to sit and watch the waves. We also saw a pod of dolphins right off the shore while we were there! We only stayed about 20 minutes then we had to go home. Jacob and I managed to sleep almost all the way to Barstow then from there it was a quick trip home. My parents stayed at The Orleans for the next two nights so we got a little bit more time with them before it was back to real life. This was quite possibly the best Disney trip ever! Visiting the parks with a baby is a totally different experience. It was nice to slow down a bit and really enjoy the things that I don't usually pay any attention to. Even the simplest things like the water play areas ended up being wonderful memories for us. I can't wait for us all to go back again! Now, you’ve heard this a million times, but once more won’t hurt. You won’t believe how fast they grow up. Keep taking pictures and videos, and especially, get him back to the Park whenever you can. Mortgage the house, sell the furniture, but do whatever it takes to get him there during these really special years. I was fortunate that hotels were a lot less expensive, and we’d stay at the Heidi for a week at a time, just kicking back and napping or swimming after a morning of doing the baby swap. Those were really happy times. I wish them for you.
