They have a pretty good cast, but I get the feeling its just going to be one unanswered question after another and nothing is ever going to be fully explained (ala Carnivale). Also, the verbose dialogue from Al Bundy is reminiscent of Al Scwerenger (sp?) from Deadwood. It worked alot better in Deadwood.

Ramon, the lawyer guy, the new owner, and recently "the Hawaiians" [Freddy and Palaka] I'm bored by the conflict of the Yost family and "Linc". I'm bored by Mitch and Cissy's ongoing bickering. I kinda like Bill's character [Ed O'Neil] but if some answers to his persona aren't explained soon I'm gunna be irritated. I gather that Bill is a good friend of the family and apparently after losing his wife and leaving the force he has issues. I guess we're gunna learn more about Shawn's mom this week. So far I gather that she is a porn star that Butchie was with back in his hey day and they had Shawn together. I get the feeling that this show is going to anchored by Cissy, she is the strong one, she is the one who ultimately calls the shots. I presume that Shawn's moms' reunion is not without conflict for Cissy. I don't know why, but there is something pulling me to watch this show. I think it's the sleazy characters [Butchie, Ramon, Freddy, Palaka] However the storyline is not appealing to me. The Sopranos this is NOT.

I think that the grandson acts like a typical kid his age - they really could have made him a little more interesting.
