That's it. No more justices until the Dems take control of the Senate. "I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up," McCain said. "I promise you. This is where we need the majority and Pat Toomey is probably as articulate and effective on the floor of the Senate as anyone I have encountered." John McCain: 'I don't know' if Trump will be better for Supreme Court than Clinton - CNNPolitics.com
Hoping it's just election-season bluster, i.e. "We need to elect Pat Toomey to stop Hillary and her activist judges" blather just to rile up the voters. If they actually decided to not confirm anyone Clinton nominated, no matter how centrist or qualified, and leave a vacancy for what would be 5 full years because somehow they think they're entitled to a conservative majority on the Court (that they've already had for 30 years), that would be jaw-dropping. And remember, their (lame to begin with) excuse for not confirming Garland was "the next president should pick."
Yup. They're effectively hobbling 1/3 of the United States Government for political purposes, and now they're not even trying to deny it. Talk about dereliction of duty! If this should come to pass (beyond even Judge Garland, I mean), is there any way to force them to do their jobs? It *is* written in the constitution, is it not?
