It was thrilling (and quite moving) to sit in the third row from the stage and hear a 64-piece orchestra play music from “E.T.,” “Jaws,” “Star Wars,” “Schindler’s List,” “Superman,” the “Harry Potter” films, “War Horse,” “Lincoln,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” the “Indiana Jones” films---plus a special arrangement of “Hooray for Hollywood!”

What an amazing talent he has.

Later, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if John Williams wrote a piece of music for the Epcot entrance?”

I would like to hear that……

I think the original loop is great, incorporating many of the old pavilion songs, but it wouldn't make sense with today's park. But I certainly agree that it would be great to get a new piece of music for the Epcot entrance, featuring a grand theme (themes?) and a lot of interesting variation on it. The current one with several different songs just doesn't capture the same excitement for me

And for what it's worth, there are already a few 'celebrity' composers in the music loop. Jerry Goldsmith did the score for Soarin' (the ride version plays at the park entrance), Bruce Broughton did the score for Ellen's Energy Adventure (a version of which is included), and Gavin Greenaway did the music for Reflections of Earth

Now I know what you're thinking: The Illuminations score isn't in the Epcot entrance loop. That's right. However, there's a nearly-unrecognizable (though memorable) countermelody that is the main theme that plays in the area. Both the entrance countermelody and the Illuminations theme are played on top of each other in the Port Discovery background music at TDS. You can hear them starting at 10:30 in video #2, and continuing on into video #3
