I know we can't get two teenagers up at the crack of dawn to get there before the gates open. Any advice would be apprec. Also do they always close admissions during the day on the fourth. I am also wondering with the HIGH gas prices - Do you think this might influence the crowds?

It is totally unreal. Just not worth it. And you need to get there early, and if possible either walk to the park, or take the shuttle your hotel provides. Parking fills up quickly and all the hotels warn their guests about it. And yes...if the park fills to capacity, they could very well close it. It has happened before. The best thing to do is get there when it opens...and be near the exit when the fireworks are over, otherwise you might never get out!! As for gas prices, yikes...we live in the Bay area and were paying over $3.00 now, so by summer it is going to be close to $4.00 or at least $3.50 per gal. I don't think this will keep people off the road at all, especially with the 50th celebration going on until the end of the year. Good luck to ya!!! Your a lot more brave than I!! lol.... ºoº

Just remember to get there early and be close to the exit when the fireworks are over. It is going to be wall to wall people..and the cast members "herd" all the guests in a one way direction. It's just too hot in summer for lightweights like me any more. We're planning to do Christmas in the parks this year, though. I understand the crowds then are also gi-normous. That's ok, as long as it's not so hot it makes people crabby!

It can also warm up during the day as Southern California has a tendacy to do that, but cool way down at night. So jackets and gloves might be a good thing to include. I am naturally cold anyway, so I always go during the summer. But I've enjoyed Disneyland during the holidays too. Either way you'll have fun! ºoº
