The best thing to do is keep checking and then jump on them when they come out because they go fast!

    Good Luck!!

I just checked rates for the Tenaya Lodge outside Yosemite. I've stayed there for $129, paid $250 for a special snow package earlier this month and in July they want $345!

I have budgeted the higher price, so anything I save will be extra spending money!

I would have a hard time even comparing the two hotels. Jan/Feb rates start at Tenaya at $119 going up to $129 in March.

But you can get a package deal that includes a Smores Kit, 2 ice skating passes with rentals, 2 snowshoe hikes with rentals AND 2 snowdisk/sled rentals for $159 a night. Now that's a GREAT deal.

So-it's apples and oranges. Too bad that with the high cost of Disney Hotels that there are not more things included in the cost of a room.

BTW, that's the package we had. Jan. 4-7. For 2 adults, 2 children or 3 adults, that package was $259. That's down over $100/night for dates prior to Jan. 1. It was totally worth it, but with the weather the only things in the package we could use were the saucers and skating rink. The elevation is only 5,200 feet. It rained all day the day we arrived (skating only); Day 2 there wasn't enough snow for snow shoeing, but sledding was great. It snowed all day. No fire for s'mores because of the heavy snow.; Day 3 was spectacular. Would have been perfect for snowshoeing, but we had to check out and drive home. Oh, and you couldn't get to Yosemite Valley because of the snow on Hwy. 41. It was closed.

We've long ago established we have different ideas of value, dlkozy. We look at different things. Can we agree to each post our personal opinions on the topic at hand and not go back and forth with each other? I know it will take effort - it will on my part! But I'm pretty tired of this dumb bickering and checking of information. Especially on things outside of the scope of the topic.

I travel alot with my work as an Events Coordinator and when I am paying $274.00+ tax for a plain two double bed room at the Edmonton Westin or 234.00 for then same type of room at the Calgary Fairmont or $289.00 same room type at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver for MOUNTAINVIEW then I will gladly pay $230.00 for a room at the Grand and consider it to be a bargain :)

Again the Grand for $230 is a GREAT deal :)

The info came straight off of their website. It was not a family package, as I mentioned all tickets were for 2.

This is a discussion board SuzieQ and going back and forth=discussion. I don't have to agree with you to discuss and you don't have to agree with me.
